Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held a meeting with the directors of educational directorates in various governorates via video conference technology. To follow up and confirm the procedures and assignments related to the discipline and regularity of the second semester of the academic year 2023/2024, and to develop the educational process.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the attendees, noting the importance of this meeting, which comes within a series of periodic meetings. Discussing a number of important points that work to discipline and develop the educational process.

During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the emphasis on the mechanisms taken by the Ministry related to the main axes of the educational process, which are the student, the teacher, the curriculum, the school building, and the follow-up of their implementation by the educational directorates.

The Minister emphasized that, out of concern for the interests of students, to help them achieve academic achievement, and to provide all learning resources that help them in the efficiency of the teaching and learning process and to reduce the burden on the Egyptian family, the Ministry made available on its website educational and training materials for grades from fourth primary to third secondary; To establish deep understanding and train students on the vocabulary and types of questions, by providing a large number of questions at the end of each study unit of the curriculum.

In this context, the Minister thanked the Central Administration for Curriculum Development and the Directors of General Subject Development for preparing these electronic materials and training, directing the directors of educational directorates, boards of trustees, parents, and teachers to announce in schools these educational and training materials that the Ministry makes available for students to view and benefit from, as well as assigning General mentors and first mentors follow up on the implementation of printing educational and training materials in schools, make them available to students, prepare reports on them to monitor the extent of their benefit and reactions to them, and send these reports to the Ministry to update them.

The Minister also directed the importance of implementing school support groups at nominal fees to alleviate the burden on parents, by selecting the best schools in each educational department that includes an amphitheater or theater as a hall suitable for students receiving the groups, and attracting distinguished, qualified teachers to teach there.

The Minister also stressed the activation of electronic absence, the follow-up by directors of educational directorates and departments of absence rates among students in schools, as well as the regularity of teachers’ attendance to achieve discipline, and work to attract students to school, especially students in the third year of middle school and the third year of secondary school, by presenting them with lectures given by the best teachers, with Announcing these lectures in school schedules, in addition to attracting students by organizing a sports and cultural activity day every week in all schools in cooperation with the Ministries of Youth, Sports and Culture to help students focus and understand, and contribute to building the physical, mental and health fitness of students, as well as discovering talents. And take care of her.

During the meeting, the Minister also reassured the percentage of supply of textbooks to educational directorates, which exceeded 90%, stressing the need to expedite the completion of their delivery to students, as well as the need to follow up on regular maintenance of schools and for the school maintenance official to report any work that requires maintenance.

The Minister also stressed the need to develop loyalty and belonging among students by celebrating national holidays, organizing trips to the Egyptian state’s national projects, and preparing students for research projects that address the challenges facing the state, such as “capstone” projects for outstanding schools of science and technology (STEM).

As for the “1,000 School Principals” initiative, the Minister indicated that a committee had been formed from the National Center for Examinations to follow up on the new principals and listen to their ideas for development. As for the announcement of the second batch of the initiative, the Minister stressed that the conditions for applying for the competition emphasize ensuring the selection of the most qualified. In light of the “30,000 Teachers...First Year” competition, the Minister indicated that about 54 male and female teachers with disabilities have been appointed and will be distributed to schools. He also stressed that coordination is underway with the relevant authority to give another opportunity to teachers from the batch who did not pass the training. The Minister added that the Ministry's strategic plan is based on three main axes: availability, quality, sustainability, and lifelong learning, stressing the importance of the role of community education and treating dropout from education as an important axis of the strategic plan.

The Minister stressed the directors of educational directorates to provide all means of support for the presidential initiative “A Decent Life” as it is one of the most important social protection projects and is considered one of the honorable models currently being taught in the world.

In another context, the Minister indicated that the General Administration for Support and Communication has been created in the Ministry, concerned with forming committees for communication between the Ministry and the directorates, departments and schools, to introduce the Ministry’s efforts and all the decisions and procedures it takes within each school at the republic level, and to record reactions about them, to take them into consideration and constructively. on her.
