Today, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, inaugurated the Fathallah International School of Applied Technology in the field of "modern trade" in Alexandria.

This came in the presence of Captain Alaa Fathallah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fathallah Company, Dr. Jacqueline Azar, Deputy Governor of Alexandria, on behalf of Major General Muhammad Al Sharif, Governor of Alexandria, Major General Hazem Badr El Din, Deputy Commander of the Northern Region, Margaret Sancho, Deputy Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and Gregory Nebelt, Deputy Director of MTC International, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mohammadi, Assistant Minister for Female Teachers Affairs, Dr. Amr Basila, Director of the Applied Technology Schools Operation and Management Unit at the Ministry, Dr. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development and Supervisor of the Central Administration of the Minister’s Office, and Dr. Arabi Abu Zaid, Director of the Directorate of Education Education in Alexandria, Mohamed Fawzy, Deputy Director of the Egypt Workforce Project, Dr. Amr Suleiman, Senior Consultant, International Schools of Applied Technology - Egypt Workforce Project, and a number of representatives of the economic sector at the US Agency, and partners from the public and private business sectors.

In his speech, Dr. Reda Hegazy expressed his happiness with the inauguration of Fathallah International School of Applied Technology in Alexandria, stressing that it is a new edifice added to the balance of the technical education and vocational training system in Egypt, and one of the fruits of cooperation and successful partnership between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and Fathallah Company. and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

The Minister also extended his thanks and appreciation to all parties supporting the development of the technical education system in the private sector for their efforts and continuous support for technical education, and to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Egypt Manpower Project, which seeks to support the operation and management unit of applied technology schools through the establishment of a model of international schools of applied technology. Accredited, and applying methods of education based on competencies and learning based on practice, with the expansion of teaching foreign languages, and updated curricula, in line with modern technology, especially environmentally friendly technology.

The minister emphasized that applied technology schools have changed the mental image of technical education in Egypt and have become a model that can be exported regionally and internationally due to the theoretical and practical studies they possess with industrial partners in accordance with international standards, in order to give students the necessary experiences that burden them and qualify them for the labor market.

The minister also expressed his happiness with the students' skills, abilities, and self-confidence, praising what he witnessed of the students' abilities and skills during his visit to the school.

The minister added, "Education and its development has become a topic that occupies the interest of every Egyptian home and family. Education is no longer seen as the responsibility of the Ministry of Education and Education only. Businesses, trade unions, civil associations and parties, and each of these parties has an active role in supporting efforts to develop education and participating in achieving Egypt's national goal to reach high-quality education in its various stages.

He added: "The Ministry of Education and Technical Education pays great attention to the development of technical and vocational education in quantity and quality as a supreme goal of an ambitious strategy to develop technical education, which the Ministry is adopting, based on the Egyptian state's strategy for sustainable development, Egypt's Vision 2030, aimed at making technical education and vocational training available to all. Students, without discrimination, improving the quality of the technical education and training system and its outputs, in line with international systems, and ultimately reflected in enhancing the competitiveness of technical education and training.

Dr. Al-Wazir said: "The political leadership's interest in developing technical education since 2014 has resulted in an unprecedented momentum in this field. Therefore, the Ministry saw the launch of a model for technical schools, in which the private sector participates in developing, based on its societal responsibility towards the country, with the aim of Provision of skilled technical manpower in the specializations needed by the various economic sectors in general, and those needed by the private sector partners in particular, to ensure the transformation of education oriented from the supply side to education oriented from the demand side, and thus identifying the professions and specializations needed by the labor market, and thus competencies Which should be acquired by technical education students, thus contributing to reducing the qualitative gap between the skills acquired by graduates of the technical education system, and those needed by the international and local labor market, which strongly supports learning for earning.

The minister added that the number of applied technology schools reached (52) schools distributed in (14) governorates, indicating that the ministry aims to expand these schools and bring them to 420 schools.

The minister added that these schools depend on basic foundations that include a system that applies international standards, and curricula based on merits, according to an evaluation system that includes the student and the teacher to prepare qualified technical cadres at a high level, and qualify them for the labor market in Egypt and abroad, and this type of school also provides three paths. For its graduates, namely joining the labor market directly, joining technological universities, and joining the rest of the Egyptian universities after conducting an equation, which confirms once again the importance of continuing joint work and integrating efforts with our partners in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as strengthening cooperation with local and international partner agencies. ; to support those efforts.

At the end of his speech, the Minister addressed a word to the male and female students, wishing them to possess the knowledge and skills that qualify them to carry the message of community advancement and service to the nation, and congratulated them on their choice of the path of applied education in the schools of applied technology.

For her part, Marguerite Sancho, Deputy Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), said: "For more than forty years, the United States and Egypt have worked side by side to reduce the burden of unemployment through programs that promote education and skills training, job creation, entrepreneurship, and the development of a climate Business to private companies, and a strong environment for trade and investment.

Marguerite Sancho expressed her happiness with the inauguration of Fathallah International School of Applied Technology, which is one of five schools established as a direct result of partnerships between the public and private sectors, noting that these initiatives are great examples of how we can support Egypt on its path to achieving Egypt's Vision 2030.

She emphasized that USAID is committed, through the Egypt Manpower Project, to providing education and training for all students, in addition to improving the quality of technical and vocational education and training. These schools will accelerate the development of the technical education system in Egypt, and these international schools will also contribute to meeting the actual needs of the labor market. .

In the speech of Major General Mahmoud Al-Sharif, Governor of Alexandria, which was delivered on his behalf by Jacqueline Azar, Deputy Governor, she indicated that the Ministry of Education’s establishment of schools of applied technology is considered one of the most important initiatives undertaken by the Ministry in a comprehensive development movement and the pursuit of a sophisticated and new educational system, noting that the school Fathallah International, which is inaugurated today, is working to provide job opportunities for Fathallah factories, and that the idea of a student studying a required specialty according to the profession that suits him, and joining accredited technological colleges is a genius idea that helps balance between graduates and the labor market, and the establishment of such schools is a breakthrough in education in Egypt.

Mohamed Fawzy, Deputy Director of the Manpower Project in Egypt, also reviewed the stages of implementing the 10 international schools of applied technology, with partners in the private sector, as 5 schools began to open since last September, and they are the Fathallah International School in Alexandria, and a school in the field of plastic molds industry. in Sharkia, and a school in the field of marketing financial services in Minya, and in the field of artificial intelligence in Assiut, and in the field of software in Giza, and for the other five schools, which are scheduled to open during the next year, and they are in the field of heavy industries in Sadat in Menoufia, And in Qalyubia in the field of technology, and in the field of heavy industries in Qena, and in the field of furniture in Giza.

Captain Alaa Fathallah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fathallah Company, indicated that Fathallah Markets is considered a national institution that began in 1948, and passed through three pivotal stages that served as basic pillars for building its ancient entity during its historical journey towards development and keeping pace with market changes, in order to achieve its goals and provide distinguished services for the trade. Wholesale and retail, providing job opportunities for young people, encouraging small and medium-sized national companies, and the Corporation is also keen to be present in all governorates of the Republic, and pay attention to product quality, service, product and commodity diversity, and is also keen to pay attention to training the human element and continuous development to maintain comprehensive quality and provide better service to serve Customers reaching 77 branches and 16,000 employees.

Dr. Reda Hegazy inspected the Fathallah International School for Applied Technology in Alexandria, which covers an area of about 4,500 square meters, and includes 12 classrooms. The capacity of the school reaches 300 students, and it includes several laboratories, including computer laboratories, a language laboratory, an application laboratory (fab lab), and bakery laboratories. Butchery laboratories, dry grocery laboratories, a hall for guidance, counseling, vocational training, and entrepreneurship. Its educational classrooms are equipped with smart educational screens to keep pace with the technology of applied schools. Sustainable development and climate, it also includes a football field, basketball and volleyball courts.

The minister also inspected a simulation model of a sales outlet inside the school for training in supply and marketing, where the minister praised the level of cleanliness and quality of the products, directing the importance of opening branches for this school in the various governorates, including Upper Egypt and the border governorates.
