Zaid, Director of the Directorate of Education in Alexandria, and Mr. Mohamed Al-Sunni, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Parents and Teachers in the Governorate.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif thanked the Governor of Alexandria, praising his keenness to support the educational process, as well as his belief in the educational leaders in the governorate and their ability to make a difference during the coming period.

The minister said: “This meeting is the first after yesterday’s announcement of the solutions and mechanisms presented by the ministry to address the most important challenges it faces, which are class densities, the deficit in the number of teachers, mechanisms for attracting students to schools, and restructuring secondary education,” indicating that the ministry is working on Addressing these four challenges to be able to improve the educational process within the classroom with an appropriate density of student numbers.”

The Minister stressed that each educational administration has a different nature from other administrations, explaining that the mechanisms that were announced to address the challenges are the result of many field visits and meetings with directors of educational departments, school principals and teachers, as well as the review by many experts of these solutions and approval from various parties of the system. Educational.

During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the main plan and the Ministry’s vision to address the problem of student densities in classes, including transferring secondary schools to the evening period and benefiting from them in the morning period for the preparatory stage. Thus, students will also benefit from these secondary schools equipped at the highest level, and the preparatory schools will become the The other is exploited by primary school students, stressing the importance of having flexibility in applying these mechanisms according to the nature of each educational department according to the educational departments that will deal with the matter according to their needs, as well as limiting educational spaces such as control rooms, multi-purpose halls, and others, with the assistance of the Educational Buildings Authority. Exploiting them as classrooms, using the idea of ​​the mobile classroom similar to international schools, and modifying the school week by increasing the number of school days to five days of academic education instead of four, in addition to a sixth day for activities.

The Minister also reviewed the time map for the 2024/2025 academic year, noting that the new academic year will begin next September 21, and studies will continue in the first semester until January 11, and the last teaching week will fall on May 22, 2024, thus increasing the actual time period for teaching from 23 weeks. To 31 weeks during the school year, in addition to increasing the duration of the class by 5 minutes, which increases the teaching capacity by 33%, and helps implement the study plan, including active learning.

Regarding filling the deficit in the number of teachers, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif said: “The education teacher has great value. He is one of the best teachers in the world and has a talent for teaching. Therefore, we are working to preserve him, qualify him, and develop his abilities,” reviewing solutions to address this problem through Completing the presidential initiative to appoint 30,000 teachers, and activating the law on extending service for teachers to benefit from the expertise of teachers who have reached retirement age, as they have the experience and ability that will enable them to continue for more years, as well as contracting with 50,000 teachers per share according to the needs of educational departments, in addition to seeking the help of graduates. The Minister also touched on the mechanisms of attracting students to schools, stressing that motivating the student is the most important element of success, in addition to the importance of evaluating students on their performance in schoolwork, the class booklet, and the test or weekly interim evaluation, which is applied in all education systems in the country. the world.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif continued that there will be a focus on school activities that make students motivated to succeed, as well as amending the school discipline regulations. Which aims to motivate and discipline, and obtain grades for the committed student, noting that the application of these procedures achieves the restoration of the teacher’s prestige in the classroom and the resulting positive impact on the teachers’ performance, which in turn is reflected in the students and the educational process.
