Minister of Education chairs meeting of the Board of Directors of the Fund for Supporting, Financing, Managing
Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, chaired today the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Fund for Supporting, Financing and Constructing Educational Projects, to discuss the support and financing requests submitted to the Board, as well as follow up on the status of the projects financed by the Fund in various governorates of the Republic, and present the combined support requests submitted to the Fund.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif stressed the importance of the role of the Fund for Supporting, Financing, Managing and Constructing Educational Projects in establishing, equipping, maintaining and renovating schools, facilities and educational centers within the framework of the national plan for economic and social development and the state's general policy in the field of education, appreciating the efforts and achievements of the Fund in the past period, and its support for the most important educational projects.
During the meeting, Accountant Mohamed Sami, Assistant Minister for Education Projects Support, Financing, Management and Construction Fund Affairs, reviewed several topics regarding the approval of the planning budget for the General Fund for Fiscal Year 2024/2025, which included all revenues, new constructions, completion and expansion of projects, and support for the technological component.
The completion of the preparation of the Fund's final account for the fiscal year 2023/2024 was also reviewed, as well as what was implemented during the past year.
The meeting also witnessed a discussion of the establishment of an internal audit and governance unit in the organizational structure of the Education Projects Support, Financing, Management and Construction Fund.
The meeting also presented the results of the work of the Egyptian Company for Educational Management for the period from 2018 to 8/31/2022, and the executive position of the Nile International School construction project in Suez Governorate was also reviewed.
The meeting also witnessed the Council's approval to support the General Authority for Educational Buildings to establish (4) schools for excellence in science and technology in the governorates of (Beheira - Port Said - Suez - Matrouh).
The Council was also briefed on the support of the General Authority for Educational Buildings with the value of the schools' needs for new beds before the start of the 2024/2025 academic year.
