Dr. Reda Hegazy, Deputy Minister for Teachers' Affairs, said in his speech that today's event is a form of democracy in education, and we must work on teaching democracy to enable students to have leadership skills and express opinion.
Hegazy pointed out that the giant projects that Egypt is undertaking must be known to the students and passed on among their colleagues, in order to develop their spirit of loyalty and belonging. Ahmed Moussa, the general leader of the Union of Students of the Republic Schools stressed that this conference comes in light of the central topic "Student Unions..citizenship and development," noting that the targets of these elections are all students who are members of the executive offices in the secondary stage of the educational directorates, and the mentors of the committees and the supervisory body.
