The Minister of Education issues a decision regarding the study and evaluation system for students of the (fourth and fifth) grades of primary school)

Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, issued a ministerial decision; Regarding the system of study and evaluation for students of the fourth and fifth grades of the primary cycle for the academic year 2022/2023.
The decision stipulates that the curricula shall be applied to students of the fourth and fifth grades of the primary cycle, in all public education schools: (official - official languages ​​- distinguished official languages ​​- special of its two types: "Arabic and languages"), starting from the academic year 2022/ 2023, and the curricula include the following subjects: Arabic language, religious education (Islamic and Christian), mathematics, science, English (connect), social studies, information and communication technology, professional skills, values ​​and respect for others, art education, physical and health education, and education. Music, tokatsu activities, and English (Connect Plus) for the official language school and private schools taught in English.
The decision also stipulated that teachers of the basic subjects, each in his specialization, participate in teaching the curricula - referred to - and teach the study periods designated for the curriculum of values ​​and respect for the other, the Arabic language teacher, and religious education, at the rate of half a period of the Arabic language per week.
As for the subject of information technology, it is used for teaching by a computer teacher, or technological development, and the subject of professional skills, which is taught by teachers of fields and activities, while the activities of the tokatsu are used to implement it by the teachers who have been trained.
The decision also stipulates that the technical guidance of the study materials, through the general guidance of the study materials in the Directorate, each in his specialization, down to the first course director in the educational administration, up to the subject guide in the school.
The directors of the Education Directorate in the governorates may also make the necessary adjustments to the school system, according to the circumstances of each governorate, provided that this does not affect the basic content of the academic program and its philosophy.
The decision stipulates that the evaluation system is based on measuring learning outcomes for the developed subjects, and students in the fourth and fifth grades of the primary cycle (12) study twelve courses, in addition to the activities of the tokatsu, the evaluation system and its tools as follows: 60 marks for tests, and 35 A score for performing tasks, and 5 degrees for attendance, so that the final score is 100. As for evaluating the values ​​course and respecting the other, a formative evaluation is conducted: the teacher evaluates the students’ behavior, according to their performance rates, in light of the learning outcomes of the values ​​included in the curriculum, using a scale the performance.
With regard to evaluating the art education course, physical and health education, music education, and tokatsu activities, the teacher evaluates the students’ performance, according to the learning outcomes of each subject included in the curriculum, referred to as (passed - not passed).
The decision clarified that the tests are divided into three tests in one semester, so that the first test targets the parts of the course that were taught in the first month, and the second test targets the parts of the course that were taught in the second month.
As for the final exam, it is held at the end of each semester, and measures the intended learning outcomes in the entire semester, and the student at the end of the semester obtains the sum of the three marks.
With regard to expressing the learner’s assessment result, the ministerial decision clarified that it takes place in the form of four colors, expressing the extent to which the learner has acquired knowledge and skills, and through the colors the learner is acquainted with the development of his performance, as follows: Blue color: shows that the learner has exceeded expectations in acquiring Knowledge and skills required (from 85 to 100), green: indicates that the learner has possessed the knowledge, and required skills (from 65 to less than 85), and yellow: indicates that the learner needs some support (from 50 to less than 65), Red color: shows that the learner has not mastered these required knowledge and skills, and still needs a lot of support (from 1 to less than 50). On the red, he fails, and he has to repeat the school year, and test it on what he studied in both semesters.
The decision also stipulated that the result of the student's evaluation of the class-leading teacher should be placed below the success notification for various personal and behavioral aspects, including monitoring points of excellence, diagnosing weaknesses, as well as the result of evaluating tendencies and trends.
