Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, signed today, at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, a cooperation protocol with the German "Goethe-Institut" within the framework of the "Schools' Future Partners Initiative" project, which was signed in 2008, as this protocol is an extension of it.

The protocol was signed by Sebastian Wouter, Head of the German Language Department at the Goethe-Institut, on behalf of the Goethe-Institut, in the presence of Ms. Daniela Decker, an expert in teaching German at the Goethe-Institut, Yara Salah, and Asma Al-Rikabi, one of the coordinators of the PASCH project.

From the Ministry’s side, Dr. Randa Shaheen, Head of the Central Administration for Public Education, Dr. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development and Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister’s Office, Mona Ayoub, Advisor to the Minister for Private and International Education, Ashraf El-Sayed, Legal Adviser to the Minister, and Naglaa Zakaria, Director General of Language Development, participated. During the signing events, Dr. Reda Hegazy affirmed the depth of relations and close cooperation in the field of education between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Ministry, noting that the Goethe-Institut is one of the most important partners working to support knowledge of the German language in Egypt, and sponsors cultural cooperation between the two countries, especially in projects that target The teacher and his sustainable professional development.

The minister explained that the ministry pays great attention to the German language, noting that work is underway to establish 100 Egyptian-German schools, similar to the Egyptian-Japanese schools.

Dr. Reda Hegazy continued that the German language will be taught as an optional language within the framework of the second foreign languages that will be taught starting from the first grade of middle school in government schools for the academic year 2024-2025, indicating that this protocol works to exchange experiences between school students at the level of the two countries, which Supports their communication skills as well as language proficiency.

For his part, Sebastian Wouter, Head of the German Language Department at the Goethe-Institut, expressed his great pleasure at signing this protocol, which confirms the depth of the relations between the two countries, noting that this protocol is of great importance, in light of the keenness to develop schools and qualify teachers, and follow up on special curricula and examinations. In German.

Sebastien Wouter praised the close cooperation at the level of institutions in such projects that achieve sustainability in the new educational system.

This protocol aims to spread and support the teaching of the German language in distinguished schools in the world, the continuous rehabilitation of students, the development of students' skills, the building of live and long-term ties with Germany, and the encouragement of students, teachers and schools to exchange visions and cooperate with each other.

The "Schools as Future Partners" initiative includes a network of more than 1,800 schools around the world with a strong bond in Germany. And linking the school and its teachers and students with other schools through an international network.
