The Minister of Education and Technical Education chairs the meeting of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Educational Buildings

Today, Thursday, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Educational Buildings, in the meeting room at the Authority’s headquarters, to find out what the Authority’s projects have been accomplished during the fiscal year 2022-2023, and the position of the Decent Life Initiative (first phase), And discussing the investment plan for the fiscal year 2023-2024.
This came in the presence of Major General Engineer Yousry Salem, Assistant Minister for Educational Buildings Affairs, and members of the Board of Directors.
At the outset of the meeting, the minister welcomed the members of the board of directors of the authority, representatives of ministries, experts and experienced university professors. The minister also praised the constructive and developmental role played by the authority in the process of building, replacing and renovating schools.
Dr. Reda Hegazy said that the ministry is working to find solutions to reduce the intensity of classes, and the ministry is making intensive efforts with the aim of increasing the annual rates of the number of educational buildings. to counteract these densities.
The minister pointed out that the viewing classes for our school channels are one of the important additions that the ministry implemented this year, directing the Educational Buildings Authority to work on providing suitable halls for viewing periods and maximizing their utilization.
During the meeting, Dr. Reda Hegazy indicated that the ministry cares about the school as an educational institution in which the character of the Egyptian person is built from childhood, as well as its interest in attracting students to the school, which allows education to be available to all without discrimination.
The minister touched on the Egyptian International Schools (IPS), pointing out that they provide a distinguished educational service, stressing that the ministry aims to expand this model of schools, due to the high demand for them.
The minister pointed out that in light of artificial intelligence and digital transformation, the ministry is working to confront current challenges and changes that require abandoning traditional systems, strategies and usual work mechanisms, by keeping pace with schools for digital transformation by designing smart, flexible and multi-purpose school buildings.
For his part, Major General Yusra Salem, Assistant Minister for the Affairs of the General Authority for Educational Buildings, reviewed the achievements of the authority and the projects of the Decent Life Initiative, where 1131 construction projects were established, and 1299 projects for maintenance, development and raising the efficiency of school buildings in the first phase. He also presented the financial position of the investment plan for the fiscal year. 2023-2024.
During the meeting, several issues were reviewed, the most important of which was the current position of the presidential initiative projects (a decent life), the first phase and the proposal for the second phase, and the results of passing through schools that were established more than (15) years ago within the framework of the Ministry’s policy and the plan of the General Authority for Educational Buildings to check on the situation. The construction of schools, ensuring their structural integrity, and starting schools after the final reports of replacement or maintenance.
