The Ministry of Education and Technical Education participated in the Second German-African Forum for Vocational Education and Training on October 13, 2022 in Frankfurt, Germany, organized by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Germany.

The forum brought together representatives of decision-makers in African countries and Germany, as well as representatives of international bodies and providers of educational and training services that support the development of technical education and vocational training. The forum addressed the future of skills development in Africa and sustainable strategies to improve the employability of technical education graduates.

Dr. Mohamed Moussa Emara, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Schools, participated in the panel discussion on green hydrogen projects and training needs. The panel discussion included the Minister of Higher Education and Technology of the Republic of Namibia and representatives of German education and training service companies.

The seminar dealt with the need to determine the technical competencies and training needs necessary for the early preparation of qualified technicians with the technical competencies required in the labor market according to the expected jobs and professions, especially with the large number of projects expected to be established soon, which are concerned with the production, storage, transportation, export and multiple uses of green hydrogen, so that these projects can grow at the desired rate and achieve the return for which it is established.

Emara pointed out that by 2050 all economic activities will shift to the green economy in accordance with the climate strategy that was launched in this regard, so preparations must be expedited, especially with the presence of more than 200 jobs and professions linked to twelve sectors in the green economy.
