Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met today with Cyril Nunn, German Ambassador to Cairo, and his accompanying delegation; To discuss a number of topics of common interest in the field of education development.
Dr. Tarek Shawky welcomed the attendees, stressing that Egypt looks forward to more cooperation with the German government, and to benefit from its experiences in the field of education development, human cadres development in the field of technical education, and digital transformation, in accordance with the standards of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The minister praised the cooperation with the German side to establish a technical education quality and accreditation authority, which helps the graduate to obtain a certificate to work in Egypt and abroad, pointing to an agreement with one of the largest German companies to train 100,000 Egyptian students to work in Germany.
Dr. Tarek Shawky added that the future of technical education will be different, as the ministry is working to attract more students, by linking the entire technical education to the Egyptian, Arab and global labor market, and the development of new disciplines such as artificial intelligence, jewelry, programming and port work to meet the needs of the labor market, praising German schools In Egypt, which enjoys a good reputation, due to the quality of the educational level it offers, and the high demand for enrollment.
For his part, the German Ambassador, Cyril Noun, expressed his happiness with this meeting, praising the efforts of Dr. Tarek Shawky in the field of education development, pointing out that education is the key to progress, and investing in education is an investment in the future.
The German ambassador praised the Egyptian student, who enjoys distinguished specifications and high efficiency, which the global market needs because he is able to compete, and that Egypt needs such distinguished human competencies.
The two sides discussed ways to support the seven German schools in Egypt, the partnership with the Goethe Institute, the dissemination of the German language in Egyptian schools, and teacher training programmes, in addition to discussing the preparation and qualification of technical education students and providing them with job opportunities in the German labor market.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Badr Abdel-Aty, Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs, Mr. Ike Keral, Head of the Culture and Education Department, Ms. Maha Wissa, Assistant Cultural and Scientific Counsel at the German Embassy, Ms. Sherine Hamdy, Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister's Office, and Ms. Mona Ayoub, Advisor to the Minister for International and Private Education And Counselor Ashraf Sayed, the legal advisor to the Ministry of Education.
