Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received today Frank Hartmann, German Ambassador to Cairo and his accompanying delegation; To discuss aspects of joint cooperation, and to benefit from the experiences of the German side in the field of developing pre-university education.

Dr. Tarek Shawky praised the cooperation with the German government and benefiting from its experiences in the field of education development, pointing out that there are many aspects of cooperation between the two sides, the most important of which are the projects of the German Development Bank KFW; To support the quality of education in a number of governorates, support the establishment of a Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority for Technical, Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institutions and Programs (ETQAAN), and the establishment of an Academy for Technical and Vocational Education Teachers (TVETA), in addition to supporting the German side in the expansion and quality assurance of applied technology schools.

The minister added that cooperation with the German side also includes supporting the teaching of German language in Egyptian secondary schools, providing scholarships for German language teachers in Egypt, as well as providing scholarships for Egyptian secondary school students.

Dr. Tarek Shawky praised the German schools in Egypt, which enjoy a good reputation, due to the quality of the distinguished educational level they provide, and the high demand for enrollment in them.

For his part, the German Ambassador in Cairo, Frank Hartmann, expressed his happiness with this meeting and the successes and positive results of cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, pointing out that Egypt is an important partner for Germany, as the two countries have a partnership full of trust that extends for decades, stressing his country’s aspiration to contribute to the formulation and formation of These close relationships are especially in the field of education.

The German ambassador in Cairo praised the German schools in Egypt and the quality of education they provide, in addition to the quality of teachers and students studying in them.

During the meeting, a decision was signed to organize the work of German schools in the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as discussing the transformation of German schools in the Arab Republic of Egypt, numbering 7, into international schools of a special nature, and discussing the preparation and rehabilitation of technical education students and teaching them the German language and culture at early stages, as well as Artistic skills; To provide and provide them with job opportunities in the German labor market, in addition to cooperating with the Goethe-Institut in Cairo in translating science and mathematics tests into German to ensure their accuracy, and to define the standards required for the tests.
