The Minister of Education discusses with a German delegation the development of technical education and training in Egypt
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met today with Mario Sander, Head of the Middle East Department at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development BMZ in the Federal Republic of Germany, and his accompanying delegation; To discuss joint cooperation in developing technical and vocational education and training.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Reda Hegazy welcomed the attendees, stressing that the political leadership in Egypt is looking forward to more cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany, especially in benefiting from its experiences in the field of developing technical and vocational education and training, and developing human cadres in the field of technical education.
The Minister of Education and Technical Education explained that the ministry has provided many ways of cooperation with private sector companies in the past few years and has launched in this context the system of applied technology schools and centers of excellence, according to a specific methodology to achieve the needs of the Egyptian and regional labor market of qualified and trained labor in many domains.
Hegazy stressed that the development of technical education is an investment in human capital to ensure a prosperous future for economic development plans, explaining that the ministry seeks to launch more schools of applied technology in various economic and service fields, with new specializations that address future professions, in order to provide the opportunity For a greater number of students to enroll in these schools, which represent schools of advanced technical education with different specializations.
Hegazy reviewed aspects of cooperation in the field of technical education with the German side, most notably the employment promotion and employment support project, the technical support project for the comprehensive initiative for technical education, in addition to the establishment of the Egyptian National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation ETQAAN, as the technical support will include the formulation of policies, legislation and capacity building. Establishing systems and rehabilitating offices and equipment.
For his part, Mario Sander stressed the great role that Egypt plays in the Middle East and North Africa, praising the great development in the fields of cooperation between the two ministries recently for advanced technical education.
