The Minister of Education and his Italian counterpart inspect the Salesian Institute "Don Bosco"

Within the framework of strengthening cooperation relations between Egypt and Italy, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Dr. Giuseppe Valditara, Minister of Education and Merit in Italy, in the presence of Ambassador Michele Quaroni, Ambassador of Italy to Cairo, today visited the Salesian Institute "Don Bosco", within the framework of joint cooperation between the two sides in the field of technical and vocational education and exchange of experiences.
This came in the presence of Mr. Emanuele Orsini, President of the Italian Federation of Industries, Ms. Regina Corradini D'Arienzo, CEO of SIMEST, Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education, Dr. Hanem Ahmed, Advisor to the Minister for International Relations, and Ms. Amira Awad, Coordinator of the Ministry for United Nations Organizations.
In his speech during the visit, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif welcomed the attendees, expressing his happiness to be present today at the Don Bosco Institute, this educational and educational edifice that embodies the meeting of the will of the Egyptian and Italian states, to achieve a common vision to develop technical education, as a basic factor towards achieving economic growth and social prosperity.
The Minister explained that the "Don Bosco" Institute is considered one of the most important technical institutes in Egypt, as it plays a prominent role in preparing qualified technical cadres for the labor market by providing high-quality education in the fields of engineering and technology, adding that the institute relies on the dual education system that combines theoretical study and practical training, in cooperation with major industrial companies to provide training and employment opportunities for graduates. The Don Bosco Institute also contributes to graduating qualified cadres to support vital industries such as electricity, mechanics, electronics and information technology, and meets the needs of companies and factories in providing skilled technical workers.
The Minister stressed that the Institute has advanced laboratories and workshops that simulate real work environments, which enhances job opportunities for its graduates in local, regional and international labor markets, and gives its graduates the opportunity to complete their studies in Italy.
The Minister continued by saying: "Technical education is not just an educational path, but rather the backbone of industrial development, a tool for empowering youth, and the most appropriate field to stimulate their capabilities in the fields of creativity and innovation. In light of the accelerating global challenges, developing programs, specializations, curricula and tools for technical education has become an urgent necessity to build an economy based on knowledge and skills. Here, comes the role of joint support from the government and the private sector, to transform the visions and plans set into a tangible reality."
The Minister explained that the Ministry of Education and Technical Education in Egypt has made great progress in modernizing the technical education system, by adopting curricula based on the competency methodology, which ensures that students are qualified with practical and technical skills that are compatible with the needs of the labor market. We are also working to raise the efficiency of the infrastructure of technical schools, and provide an advanced educational environment based on integrating modern technology into the educational process, which is what combined efforts with the private sector as a key partner in development, to ensure achieving the desired results.
The Minister pointed out that the Ministry's cooperation with the Federation of Egyptian Industries, headed by Eng. Mohamed El-Sewedy, represents a unique model for integrating the expertise of the private sector in developing the infrastructure of technical schools. Through fruitful partnerships in establishing applied technology schools, and raising the efficiency of technical education schools, we can create and develop an educational environment that simulates the reality of factories and companies, and contributes to training students in a practical manner, which ensures the graduation of qualified cadres to lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The Minister added: "The role of industrial partners extends to effective participation in restructuring curricula according to the competencies methodology that focuses on practical skills and labor market needs. Through effective partnership with the private sector, technical education programs can integrate best practical practices in various academic disciplines, such as artificial intelligence and renewable energy, leading to Egypt becoming a productive regional platform and exporter of skilled competencies. He stressed that the Egyptian-Italian partnership is an inspiring model for fruitful cooperation in the field of technical education, as this partnership has contributed to transferring expertise, exchanging knowledge, and enhancing the skills of students and teachers alike. He expressed his aspiration for more cooperation and benefiting from the pioneering Italian experience in linking technical education to industry, to ensure that the labor market is provided with the required competencies, according to the highest international standards.
The Minister pointed out that we seek with our partners to enhance field training programs and local and international partnerships, where students obtain practical training opportunities supported by accredited certificates. This is not only technical qualification, but also building a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030.
At the end of his speech, the Minister pointed out that the success of the tripartite partnership between the government, the private sector and international partners is a confirmation that technical education is an investment in human capital, a tool for achieving global competitiveness, and opening new horizons for Egyptian-Italian cooperation, as it paves the way for more great achievements in various fields.
