Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Major General Adel Ghadban held a meeting with the directors of educational departments and education leaders in the governorate, to follow up on the regularity of the educational process, and to review the decisions and procedures related to the discipline of the school year.

This came in the presence of Hala Abdel Salam, Director of the Directorate of Education in the governorate, Ali Al-Alfi, Head of the Teachers Syndicate in the governorate, and Imad Allam, the governorate’s advisor for education.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Reda Hegazy welcomed the attendees from the education leaders in the governorate, appreciating their efforts in controlling and organizing the new academic year, and adhering to all controls, regulations, and ministerial decisions organizing the advancement and development of the educational process.

The Minister praised the directorate's efforts in activating the initiatives, and launching the "Companions of Happiness" initiative for people of determination in 2022, which the governorate was keen to be one of the first governorates to activate, extending thanks and appreciation to the governor general for his interest and follow-up of the educational process in the governorate.

Dr. Reda Hegazy stressed the necessity of developing the spirit of loyalty and belonging to students, as it is one of the most important lofty goals of education, reviewing the results of the training program that was implemented under the title “Activating the role of the school in enhancing community awareness and citizenship values among students in light of digital transformation,” which targeted school principals, Teachers, social workers, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Educational Administration, and the Secretary of the Student Union in the Educational Administration, directing the implementation and application of what was trained on, and raising awareness of the national projects and achievements of the Egyptian state, in general, and within Port Said in particular.

The Minister directed the education leaders in the governorate to ensure that the new teachers who were successful in the “30,000 Teacher Competition” in the governorate receive work during the current week after completing all procedures, as the number of teachers in the governorate amounts to 514.

The Minister also directed the directors of the educational departments in the governorate to provide all means of support to the new school principals within the framework of the presidential initiative “1,000 School Principals,” and to transfer expertise to them, follow up on them, and make the most of their abilities and ideas in bringing about the desired development.

The Minister also directed to educate students and introduce them to the educational and training materials that the Ministry makes available on its official website, which include explanations, questions, tests, and links to educational videos for the various curricula, stressing the importance of announcing this link on the Ministry’s website for students in various schools in the governorate and providing a copy for students for reference and use. With the aim of helping them achieve academic achievement, he added that the Ministry has prepared open question banks that help students evaluate their academic achievement.

The Minister pointed out the need to ensure the continued implementation of viewing periods for the educational channels “Our School”, which includes the most distinguished teachers, and to announce the schedules of broadcast periods on the “Our School” channels.

The Minister reviewed the mechanisms for implementing school support groups. To reduce the burden on parents, by choosing the best schools in each educational department that includes an amphitheater or theater as a hall suitable for students receiving the groups, and attracting distinguished and famous competent teachers to teach there.

The Minister also stressed the implementation of the school system and discipline regulations due to their importance in regulating the rights and duties of students and parents, the responsibilities and powers of school employees, and achieving student self-discipline inside and outside school, noting that discipline in the Egyptian school represents a priority.

Dr. Reda Hegazy also stressed the continuation of activating the absence inventory for the various educational stages, especially the preparatory and secondary school certificate stages, and activating electronic absence.

The Minister directed the need to pay attention to students in the first grades, and follow up on their reading performance to ensure good achievement in all other subjects, stressing that addressing weak points is by searching for students’ strengths, supporting them, and enhancing them.

For his part, the Governor of Port Said praised the efforts of the Directorate of Education in improving the educational process in the governorate, stressing the importance of the role of the Ministry of Education due to its responsibility for raising generations, pointing out that the school is the foundation, as it forms the conscience of the Egyptian citizen, so the governorate always cooperates and consults with the ministry to work from In order to provide the best educational service to its students.

The governor also praised teachers in Port Said Governorate, describing them as being of the highest standard and bearing responsibility.

For her part, Hala Abdel Salam, Director of the Directorate of Education in Port Said, reviewed the directorate’s efforts in the education system, as she explained that the Babylon Sheet system was implemented during the 2021/2022 academic year in the second semester of the third year of middle school, noting that this system will be implemented in the year. The current academic year for all grades of the preparatory stage.

She indicated that the first electronic question bank was launched at the governorate level for the academic year 2022/2023, in the presence of the Governor of Port Said, and the bank includes thousands of questions for the preparatory stage as a first experiment.
