Minister of Education meets with members of the Education Studies Sector Committee and a group of experts from faculties to discuss aspects of joint cooperation to develop educational process
Yesterday evening, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with the deans of the faculties of education, members of the Committee for the Educational Studies Sector, and a group of experts from the faculties of education; To discuss the ministry’s vision and work mechanisms during the coming period, within the framework of the partnership between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the Colleges of Education.
Dr. Reda Hegazy welcomed the attendees, expressing his happiness with this meeting, which aims to activate the partnership and solidarity between the faculties of education in Egyptian universities and the Ministry of Education, stressing that the faculties of education and the educational studies sector are an integral part of the development process, and faculties of education should not be in isolation from this. Development; Responsible for preparing teachers for all educational levels, with specifications commensurate with the requirements of the current stage and new curricula.
Dr. Reda Hegazy stressed that the ministry seeks to provide a distinguished educational system; It will achieve the sustainable development goals, noting that education is a state plan, and we are working to complete this plan with the possibility of changing the implementation mechanisms for the citizen to feel.
The minister pointed out the importance of the teacher’s role in upgrading the educational process, explaining that the ministry is working to build teachers’ capacities and sustainable professional development for them. To acquire skills capable of absorbing the new education system and effecting change.
The Minister also stressed the need for the teacher to be aware of assessment and teaching practices and the preparation of test vocabulary; To develop higher levels of thinking, indicating that in this regard 5,000 teachers have been trained on the new system.
The minister explained that the ministry is working to provide an appropriate work environment for teachers; It is distinguished by respect and appreciation, noting that in the celebration of Teacher's Day, a number of teachers will be honored, and announcing the "I am the teacher" initiative, through which a number of services will be provided to teachers worthy of their distinguished position. The Minister also spoke about the initiative of the President of the Republic to select and train 1,000 teachers from young teachers; To receive a distinguished training program that qualifies them to manage schools.
The minister reviewed some areas of cooperation with faculties of education, including: evaluating the experience of high school exams, and research studies that faculties of education contribute to working on changing cultures, reducing resistance to change, preparing teachers, preparing question banks, in addition to measuring the level of student achievement.
The Minister also reviewed, during the meeting, the measures taken by the Ministry to develop the educational system and preparations for the new school year, as the Ministry aimed to return students to school, and to restore the school's social role in nurturing and preparing students for the future, and to be attractive and enjoyable for learning.
Dr. Reda Hegazy noted that the Curriculum Development Center has prepared a student guide for each subject, which includes a description of the subject, learning outcomes, available links for lessons and study topics, as well as various sources in the light of which exams are prepared.
As for the general secondary school, the minister said that the National Examinations Center has prepared the specifications of the examination paper; So that the student is aware of it, noting that the exam paper includes multiple-choice questions, which are questions (know the answer), and essay questions, which are questions (producing an answer) and do not exceed 15% of the exam according to the nature of each subject, stressing that the correction will be done electronically, according to A mechanism that ensures transparency, with the availability of electronic correction centers at the level of the Republic, noting that the answer form includes rubrics.
The minister touched on integrating technology into the academic program through educational channels viewing sessions in schools through “Our School (1, 2, 3)” and the availability of time to practice activities of various kinds in cooperation with the ministries of youth, sports and culture.
The minister pointed out that the work of the year in the transport classes emphasizes ensuring the student’s study first-hand, monitoring the points of excellence, addressing the weaknesses and shortcomings, and correcting the path, adding that the article of research projects aimed at developing students’ research skills and dealing with projects and national achievements and the major challenges facing them was introduced. The state, and holding competitions through which the best projects are selected and the students who prepared them are honored.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Latif thanked Dr. Reda Hegazy for this invitation, praising the decisions and executive steps to develop the educational system in Egypt, stressing the belief of the faculties of education in their role in upgrading education in Egypt and the success of the change efforts witnessed by our Egyptian society.
During the meeting, it was agreed to hold regular meetings; To discuss the proposed scenarios for cooperation and work mechanisms during the coming period; To improve educational practices, enhance the capabilities of teachers, and support teaching and learning practices in colleges of education.
At the end of the meeting, the Educational Studies Sector presented a shield of honor to Dr. Reda Hegazy in appreciation of his efforts in developing the education system in Egypt. The Minister also presented the Ministry’s shield to Dr. Muhammad Latif and the Educational Studies Sector Committee.
