The Ministry of Education and Technical Education signed a memorandum of understanding with the German company DMG MORI, to cooperate in order to modernize technical education to provide skilled technical labor in the fields of automated metalworking, CNC control, automation and digital transformation as a step to localize industry in Egypt.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding was attended by the ministry's delegation consisting of Dr. Mohamed Megahed, Deputy Minister for Technical Education, Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education, Mr. Christian Tunis, President of DMG MORI, Mr. Jan Meinhof, President of the International Academy, Mr. Mahmoud Ali, Regional Director for Africa of the company, and Mr. Mahmoud Adel, Director of the Egyptian Academy, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Khaled Galal, the Egyptian Ambassador to Germany.
The memorandum of understanding stipulated the German company's commitment to exploit all its expertise in the fields of technical and vocational education applied in Germany in order to achieve the development goals required to localize the industry and raise the efficiency of learners to meet the needs of future labor markets at all local, regional and global levels.
The ministry's delegation held intensive discussions with senior officials of DMG MORI in order to reach the terms of the final agreement between the two parties, which will determine the steps for implementing the cooperation program, which Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, will sign with the company during the first quarter of 2022.
The agreement between the ministry and the German company includes the establishment of a distinguished competency center in Egypt in the field of fourth industrial revolution mechanisms, in cooperation between DMG MORI, Siemens and the German Agency for International Cooperation GIZ, and the training of a number of technical education teachers in the company’s factories in Germany to work as trainers at the Egyptian Competence Center They train their fellow technical education teachers.
The agreement also includes the company's assistance to the Ministry of Education and Technical Education in establishing a number of applied technology schools in the areas of the fourth industrial revolution mechanisms in a number of governorates, and the development of 10 technical schools with the latest CNC machines and curricula to train and empower students to meet market requirements in the field of metalworking and the localization of industry .
