"Education" holds the final qualifiers for the "Arab Reading Challenge" competition for the sixth year, in cooperation with the UAE
In the framework of the directives of Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, the necessity of activating school activities of all kinds in schools; To discover the abilities, talents and tendencies of students and work to develop and refine them and build an integrated personality, the Ministry held today, at the Agouza School Students Union, the final qualifiers for the “Arab Reading Challenge” competition in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates for the sixth year.
Professor Elham Ibrahim, Head of the Services and Activities Sector, said that the "Arab Reading Challenge" competition is one of the largest competitions in which the Ministry participates at the Arab level, and aims to instill a love of reading in the hearts of students. To enrich the cultural environment in schools, develop awareness of the importance of reading, enhance patriotism and a sense of belonging, and spread the values of tolerance, moderation and acceptance of others, in addition to forming a generation of distinguished and creative people in all fields.
The head of the services and activities sector explained that the competition’s republican jury will be held on 5/31/2022 and 1/6/2022, and all students in all schools in the Arab Republic of Egypt participate in the competition, where students are divided into four stages, the first stage of the first grade of primary school. Until the third primary grade, the second stage from the fourth primary to the sixth primary, the third stage from the first preparatory grade to the third preparatory grade, and the fourth stage is from the first secondary grade to the third secondary grade.
For her part, Dr. Iman Hassan, Head of the Central Department for Student Activities, said that the competition passes through five stages at the level of schools, departments and educational directorates. In the first stage, the student reads 10 books and summarizes them in the Red Challenge Passport, and in the second stage the student reads 10 books and summarizes them in the Green Challenge Passport. In the third stage, the student reads 10 books and summarizes them in the Blue Challenge Passport. In the fourth stage, the student reads 10 books and summarizes them in the Silver Challenge Passport. In the fifth stage, the student reads 10 books and summarizes them in the Golden Challenge Passport. Thus, the student has read and summarized 50 books. Off course during the academic year.
The head of the central administration for student activities added that the number of students registered for the competition in the sixth year is (134,01535), the number of schools is (20,808), and the number of supervisors is (36,600), explaining that there is another stage of the competition for the best school and the best coordinator in the Arab world. .
Professor Zainab Mashhour, Director General of the General Administration of Libraries, indicated that arbitration at the level of educational directorates began on March 20, in cooperation with the Arabic language advisor in the Ministry and through all Arabic language mentors, according to the matrix for estimating grades in the reading arbitration established by the United Arab Emirates. 44 winning students from each educational directorate, and only one of them was submitted to final arbitration, in preparation for determining the top ten at the level of the Republic.
