Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held a press conference to announce indicators and statistics of the results of the high school certificate exams for the academic year 2023/2024.

The Minister welcomed the attendees at the press conference, and thanked President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for his great interest and keenness to advance the educational process in Egypt and build an enlightened personality. The Minister also extended his greetings of appreciation and respect to every Egyptian family that endured a lot to support their sons and daughters during their studies, and offered his sincere congratulations to the successful students for their excellence and urged them to make more efforts in their future lives.

The minister said: “I believe that joint work with the triangle of the educational process (the teacher, the student, and the guardian) is the best way to achieve the desired advancement of the education file in Egypt, and this is what we will work on during the coming period.”

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister of Education and Head of the General Secondary Examinations, offered his sincere condolences to the family of the student who passed away, asking God to bless him with his mercy.

The Deputy Minister expressed his wishes to the top students for further success and excellence. He also thanked the teachers who participated in the examinations, the General Administration of Examinations, and all concerned authorities responsible for the conduct of the examinations, which continued over a period of 40 days.

The Deputy Minister reviewed the indicators and statistics of this year’s high school results, explaining that the number of applicants for the exams reached 729,835, the number of attendees was 726,648, the number of those who passed was 590,992, and the number of students remaining for the second round reached 96,984.

The Deputy Minister indicated that the percentage of success compared to the current year compared to previous years was as follows: the current year 2023-2024 reached 81.3%, the year 2022-2023 reached 78.8%, the year 2021-2022 reached 74.5%, the year 2020-2021 reached 73.6%, and the year 2020-2021 reached 73.6%. 2019-2020 it reached 81.5%.

The Deputy Minister also reviewed the indicators of success according to the type of schools, noting that the overall percentage of success in general secondary schools reached 86.9%, official languages ​​88.6%, private (Ma’an) 93%, private schools with fees 74.3%, private schools languages ​​91.8%, and homes and services. 56.2%.

The Deputy Minister said: “The percentage of the total successes reached 81.3%, and according to the Scientific Division (Sciences) 80.64%, according to the Scientific Division (Mathematics) 86.36%, and according to the Scientific Division (Mathematics) 80.27%.

The Deputy Minister also reviewed the percentages of the total categories for the current year compared to last year, where the percentages of the total categories from (95% to less than 100%) reached 0.39% for the academic year 2023 compared to a rate of 0.66% for the year 2024, while the percentages of the total categories came from (90%) To less than 95%) for the academic year 2023 amounted to 3.06%, compared to a percentage of 5.57% for the year 2024, and the percentages of the total categories came from (85% to less than 90%) for the academic year 2023 at a rate of 6%, compared to a rate of 9.84% for the year 2024, and the percentages of the total categories from (80% to less than 85%) for the academic year 2023 amounted to 8.84%, compared to a percentage that reached 11.83% for the year 2024, and the percentages of the total categories from (75% to less than 80%) for the academic year 2023 amounted to 11.71%, Compared to a rate of 13.52% for the year 2024, and the percentages of the total categories from (70% to less than 75%) for the academic year 2023 amounted to 14.43%, compared to a rate of 14.51% for the year 2024, and the percentages of the total categories from (65% to less than 70%) for the year. For the academic year 2023, it reached 16.14%, compared to a rate of 14.7% for the year 2024, and the percentages of the total categories from (60% to less than 65%) for the academic year 2023 amounted to 15.91%, compared to a rate that reached 13.32% for the year 2024, and the percentages of the total categories ranged from (55% to Less than 60% for the academic year 2023 amounted to 13.51%, compared to a percentage of 10.31% for the year 2024, and the percentages of the total categories from (50% to less than 55%) for the academic year 2023 amounted to 9.96%, compared to a percentage of 6.06% for the year 2024.

The Minister said: “What we witnessed today is the result of joint work between the Ministry of Education and the relevant authorities in the state, after completing the correction and grade monitoring processes, and carefully reviewing all answer sheets with integrity and transparency to ensure that every student gets what he deserves, in order to achieve the principle of equal opportunities among all students.” the students".
