"Education" honors the winning students at the state level in the "Arab Reading Challenge" competition
Today, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education honored the winning students at the republic level in the competition (the Arab Reading Challenge), as well as the distinguished supervisors participating in the competition for the academic year 2021/2022.
In the presence of Dr. Reda Hegazy, Deputy Minister for Teachers’ Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister for Technological Development, Ambassador Maryam Al Kaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Egypt, Dr. Walid Ahmed Al Ali, Advisor to the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, and Omar Al Nabulsi, Executive Director of the Mohammed Initiatives Foundation Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International, Ilham Ibrahim, Head of the Services and Activities Sector, Dr. Eman Hassan, Head of the Central Department for Student Activities, Zainab Mashhour, Director General of the General Department of Libraries, and a number of Ministry leaders and educational directorates.

Dr. Reda Hegazy expressed his pride in the great success achieved by the Arab Reading Challenge project, which is due to its inauguration and its continuity in this way to the tireless efforts and generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates. Ruler of Dubai, to encourage reading among students in the Arab world through a commitment that targeted more than one million students to participate in reading fifty million books, during each academic year.
The Deputy Minister for Teachers' Affairs added that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum did a commendable favor, when he made the right decision several years ago to officially open the door to participation in this challenge for students from outside the Arab world. Which formed a strong incentive for millions of Arab students and Arab communities residing in foreign countries to take on this challenge, and one of the most important fruits of that decision was to preserve the Arab identity, by linking these Arab children to their standard Arabic language, their countries, and their one Arab nation.
Dr. Reda Hegazy explained that the human being is the main pillar for the manufacture of civilizations and the advancement of any country, so the issue of building the personality of the Arab person was one of the most important goals of this genius project, and its importance is increasing greatly, especially in light of the successive and accelerating changes that the world is witnessing, as the transformation from knowledge economies to societies Learning, and the consequent giving more attention to new and innovative education systems, and working to produce non-traditional solutions to what the whole world is facing in terms of pandemics, wars and economic crises, which emphasize the need to pay attention to the areas of digital learning, and its various applications, to ensure the production of learners who are able to continue in learning, creativity, skills development and experience; In order to achieve what we all seek of efficient and effective Arab educational systems.
In this context, Dr. Reda Hegazy stressed that due to the growing need to expand the fields of digital learning, the Egyptian state took the initiative with unprecedented support and support from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic to establish the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, which UNESCO ranked as the best integrated scientific knowledge platform In the world, it aims to serve scientific research and university and pre-university education in all scientific fields, in addition to providing millions of publications, books and periodicals from the most important and largest global publishing houses for the reader, researcher, and the Egyptian and Arab learner.
The Deputy Minister said, “We believe in the necessity of concerted efforts of all institutions and bodies in the Arab world in order to advance this country and elevate its people, and based on my original conviction that reading has a great impact on building the personality of the learner and upgrading the whole society, I assure the ministry’s full support for this project, which is a source of pride.” For all Arabs by every possible means, in order to achieve its lofty goals in building an integrated Arab personality, unleashing its potential to the fullest extent, and refining it with the required knowledge, skills and values, in line with regional and global changes.
The Deputy Minister expressed his happiness for the victory of our students in that competition; He explained that the number of our students participating in this school year 2021/2022 amounted to 13 million students and approximately 400 thousand, an increase of about two and a half million students over the last year 2020/2021, in about 21 thousand schools nationwide, which reflects what students have This generation is deeply aware of the importance of reading and its fruits, and its role in refining their personalities with the various colors of knowledge and sciences, and confirms their awareness of the goals of this creative competition.
The Deputy Minister addressed a speech to the winning students, saying to them: Be a role model in your societies, and raise your morals, for knowledge does not bear its fruits in the proper manner unless its owners are characterized by the qualities of mercy, giving, altruism, cooperation, sincerity, and acceptance of the other, and they continued to take the “reading challenge.” In the face of all manifestations of ugliness, forms of ignorance and its outcomes, where there is no weapon more powerful than the book, and there is no greater power than knowledge and the ability to be creative.
At the end of his speech, the Deputy Minister thanked the organizers of the Arab Reading Challenge project, wishing success in achieving its objectives in promoting innovation and creativity, and refining the talents of Arab children. achievement.
For her part, Ambassador Maryam Al Kaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Egypt, expressed her happiness to attend this exceptional ceremony of the Arab Reading Challenge competition, which is held in our beloved Egypt, noting that the competition is attended by millions of Egyptian male and female students from all governorates of the Republic.
Ambassador Maryam Al Kaabi said that this competition enjoys the unlimited support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; To encourage reading among students in the Arab world, in which millions of students from different countries converge and compete; To achieve the goal of the challenge, which is to spread education and knowledge, and to raise a generation characterized by awareness, creativity and capable of carrying out its responsibilities in the future, adding that the distinguished Egyptian students’ participation comes within the framework of the strong relations between the two countries and the brotherly Egyptian and Emirati peoples, which are increasing in depth and expansion with the continuation of cultural cooperation between the institutions of the two countries. .

Dr. Walid Ahmed Al Ali, Advisor at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, expressed his happiness with his presence on the land of Egypt and in this distinguished competition, in which we are witnessing the crowning of the champion of the Arab Reading Challenge at the level of the Republic of Egypt. Ilham Ibrahim, Head of Services and Activities Sector, explained that the number of students participating in the Arab Reading Challenge has increased over the past six years, noting that the students participating in this sixth season 2022 have reached (134,01,535) out of (286) educational administrations from (20,808) schools.
She pointed out that the number of students welcome the participants from the ministry who finished reading 50 books (4,500,000) male and female students, from (12,500) schools, and (271) educational administrations.
Zainab Mashhour, Director General of the General Administration of Libraries, said that the Arab Reading Challenge is a word that extended to all parts of the Arab world to sow the seeds of knowledge within the senses and minds of our students, noting that this year, the Arab Reading Challenge achieved a participation rate of 53% of the total students of the Republic. Arab Egypt, and that this achievement was behind a large number of knowledge soldiers, from general directors and librarians, and the general administration of libraries in the ministry, and I thanked Dr. and global.
During the ceremony, an animated film was shown from the students' implementation of what was read in the competition.
