The Minister of Education and the Governor of Al-Sharqiya meet with a number of members of the governorate’s House of Representatives
Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Engineer Hazem Al-Ashmouni, Governor of Sharqia, held a meeting with a number of members of the House of Representatives in the governorate, to review the Ministry’s vision for confronting the current challenges in the educational system, and the solutions that have been reached.
The Minister expressed his happiness with this meeting, which aims to clarify visions, stressing the importance of cooperation between all parties to achieve the desired goals that work to improve the educational system in a way that suits the Egyptian student.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the Ministry’s vision for dealing with the most prominent challenges, including the shortage in the numbers of teachers, student densities in classes, attracting students to schools, and restructuring secondary education, noting that Egypt has the largest pre-university education system that includes more than 25 million. Students, and there is a need for more than 250,000 new classrooms and approximately 469,000 teachers to fill the teacher shortage in various grades, stressing that the ministry’s vision to confront these challenges came from field visits to more than 10 governorates, and meetings with directors of educational departments. To discuss mechanisms for confronting the most important challenges, in addition to reviewing these solutions by specialized experts, a team of researchers at the Ministry’s research centers conducted a study on the 20 most important countries that are at the forefront in the field of education.
The Minister stressed the importance of solidarity between all parties of the educational system in the coming period, which is witnessing great challenges. The Ministry’s approach will be to conduct community dialogue and permanent communication with various parties related to the educational system in all governorates.
For their part, the representatives of Parliament praised the plan announced by the Ministry, which was greatly appreciated by the masses of the Egyptian people, stressing the importance of cooperation with the Ministry to improve the educational process.
