Minister of Education Witnesses Signing of Cooperation Protocol with Misr El Kheir Foundation
Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the Misr El Kheir Foundation. The protocol aims to support and develop the education system in its various aspects, particularly projects through which the foundation provides care and support, including the development of technical education, general education, and community education, as well as providing scholarships for outstanding students, literacy programs, and improving healthcare services.
The protocol was signed by Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister, and Dr. Mohamed Refaie, CEO of the Misr El Kheir Foundation.
This protocol aims to solidify and strengthen joint cooperation in implementing projects to develop the educational process in line with the state's priorities and its vision for achieving sustainable development.
Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif emphasized that this cooperation represents a model of collaboration between state institutions and civil society to support the educational process, stating, "We are working according to a clear vision aimed at providing high-quality education for every Egyptian child. This protocol is an important step to enhance efforts to develop schools, expand access to education, and improve the learning environment."
The Minister added that the Ministry places great importance on community education, praising the role of the Misr El Kheir Foundation for its active participation in developing the infrastructure of community schools. He also commended the "Dhay" initiative, which aims for the early detection of conjunctivitis among school students.
He affirmed that the Ministry provides all necessary support and facilities to the Foundation to ensure the efficient implementation of joint projects and achieve optimal results that benefit students and the entire educational community.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Refaie, CEO of the Misr El Kheir Foundation, expressed his great pleasure at the signing of the cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the Misr El Kheir Foundation. He emphasized that this step is an extension of a long-standing partnership aimed at serving the community and supporting the educational and health processes for students, in line with the state's 2030 strategy.
Dr. Refaie explained that the Misr El Kheir Foundation pays special attention to community schools and early detection programs for primary school students to treat vision defects. He noted that the number of community schools affiliated with the Foundation has reached 770 schools nationwide, in partnership with several banking institutions and the private sector. He added that the foundation's role extends beyond simply developing the educational process for students. It also includes working directly with their families to meet their basic needs, ensuring the continuity of their children's education. Within this framework, the joint cooperation in the "Dhay" initiative for the early detection of vision problems among primary school students is a prime example.
The CEO emphasized Misr El Kheir Foundation's commitment to enhancing educational accessibility, supporting the Egyptian government and the Ministry of Education's efforts to provide educational opportunities for all children of compulsory school age. He affirmed that the foundation approaches this issue from a comprehensive rights-based perspective. The foundation also contributes to providing student activities, supporting technological integration, identifying gifted students, and offering them better opportunities to develop their abilities.
The protocol includes strengthening cooperation between the two parties in the areas of community education, educational accessibility, developing technical education and scholarships, and collaborating on providing health services for students. This includes early detection of conjunctivitis among school students, a crucial step in maintaining eye health and ensuring a better future for children. The "Dhay" initiative for school students aims to reduce visual impairment by conducting eye examinations for primary school students and providing eyeglasses to children with vision problems.
The signing ceremony was attended by, on behalf of Misr El Kheir Foundation, Ms. Amal Mabdy, CEO of Resource Development; Dr. Saber Hassan, Head of the Education Sector; Dr. Nihad Magdy, Senior Director of the Community Education Program; and Dr. Afaf El Gohary, Head of the Health Sector.
From the Ministry of Education, Dr. Hala Abdel Salam, Head of the Central Administration for General Education, and Ms. Fatima El Zahraa, Head of the Central Administration for Addressing School Dropout, were present.
