The Ministers of Education and Communications, the Governor of Beni Suef and the Korean Ambassador inspect the tablet production line at the Samsung factory
Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Beni Suef, inspected the production line of the educational tablet device at the Samsung factory in Beni Suef Governorate, in the presence of Ambassador Hong Jin Wook, the South Korean ambassador in Cairo.
Dr. Tarek Shawky stressed that the Egyptian state has invested in developing the educational process during the recent period, in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to be an Egyptian society that learns, thinks and innovates, noting that this message was the engine for developing the educational process.
The Minister of Education indicated that within the framework of the education development plan, we provided the students with the educational tablet as an aid with the aim of providing access to digital content for every student everywhere in Egypt, training students on modern devices and software, and direct communication between the ministry, the teacher and the student, pointing out that the step The local manufacture of the tablet was based on the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
He explained that Samsung was settled on manufacturing the educational tablet with Korean expertise and Egyptian hands, with the aim of enhancing joint cooperation in information technology and skills development.
Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, pointed to the importance of strengthening partnerships with global technology companies to transfer advanced industrial technologies to the national industry, explaining that the project to produce tablets and laptops locally represents a basic pillar to start manufacturing advanced electronic devices in the Egyptian market to meet the needs of the local market and export to regional markets. and global.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Beni Suef, praised the partnership between the Ministries of Education and Communications and Samsung International, which represents a successful model of integration between the public and private sectors to enhance efforts to localize the electronics industry to make Egypt a leading regional center in the field of electronics design and manufacturing, in implementation of the presidential initiative “Egypt Makes Electronics.” Which aims to deepen local manufacturing, create an added value for manufactured products, and strive to double Egyptian exports of electronics.
The Ministers of Education and Communications and the Governor of Beni Suef listened to a brief presentation on the new tablet production plant. The agreement also included updating the tablet model to T505N model 2020, instead of T585 model 2016; This is in an effort to improve the technical specifications according to the latest technology currently available.
The two ministers, the Governor of Beni Suef and the Korean ambassador, inspected the executive position of the educational tablet manufacturing factory at the company’s factory in the Kom Abu Radi industrial area, which provides tablets from tablets for developing the secondary education system for the Ministry of Education, in implementation of the contract concluded between the ministry and the international company with investments amounting to 30 million dollars. .
The visit was attended by Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister of Education for Technological Development, and leaders of the Directorate of Education in Beni Suef Governorate.
