Education: Opening the door for participation in the International English Language Olympiad
The Ministry of Education and Technical Education has announced the opening of the door for candidacy to participate in the International English Language Olympiad under the title "Food Security", which will be held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from 19/5/2022 to 21/5/2022.
The competition came with the aim of improving the students’ English language skills and modern scientific research methods through training them on teamwork. In order to properly prepare the young generation and improve the quality of education directed to them and their involvement in the local and global community, and to search for commonalities that combine different cultures through global interactive educational activities, more than 1,500 students from the Middle East and the world have competed in this Olympiad.
The Ministry also clarified the conditions for participation in that competition, as it is divided into the English Language Olympiad, the adult category from (12 to 17) years old, in which the members of one team must consist of 5 to 7 members, along with one or two coaches in the team, where the competition consists of: Five main themes: (English language test, project, team work, community service, theater work).
As for the other section, the English Language Olympiad is a junior category from (6 to 10) years old, in which the team must consist of (3 to 5) members of one team in addition to (1) coach for each team. The competition consists of three main axes: (Project, community service, technical work).
It is also a condition that all team members belong to one educational institution, and the institution has the right to participate in a maximum of three teams, and that English is the second language for all team members.
