Education announces the end of the ISEF competition qualifiers at the republic level and qualifies students for the international competition
The Ministry of Education and Technical Education announced the end of the local qualifying activities in the Science and Engineering Competition "ISEF", which is one of the strongest international competitions in the field of science and engineering for researchers in pre-university education, from the age of 14 to 21 years.
The ministry explained that this competition depends on possessing scientific research skills to reach a new project that contributes to solving a problem in one of the scientific fields by following the correct scientific research methodology.
The Ministry confirmed that due to the circumstances of the Corona pandemic, the competition was organized remotely (online) in order to preserve the safety of the participating students, as a technological environment was designed; To upload projects, presentations and videos, students and coordinators were also trained to use that environment.
The ministry indicated that students were selected for international representation through many preliminary and local competitions that take place in all parts of Egypt, and technology development centers participate in their organization at the governorate level, where the best scientific projects rise to compete again at the level of the republic through three exhibitions each exhibition It includes a number of Egyptian governorates, which are exhibitions: Cairo and Upper Egypt organized by the General Administration of E-learning in the Quality and Information Technology Sector, and the Alexandria Exhibition, organized by the Library of Alexandria; In order to choose the best 12 projects to participate in the international competition, which is held in the United States of America in the month of May of each year, Egypt has participated in this competition many times in the past years and achieved advanced positions.
The ministry stated that the final exhibition activities were held from 18 to 25 March, in addition to reviewing projects virtually, and judging by professors from several universities for 202 projects and 310 students participating in the competition, in addition to 48 arbitrators participating and more than 600 arbitration sessions.
The ministry said that a camp will be set up for the winning students; To scientifically guide students, raise communication skills and enable them to display their projects efficiently in the international exhibition, which will be held this year remotely.
