An Egyptian-Italian Bridge and a Historic Partnership
In an unprecedented step and with the strategic vision of Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, the Ministry of Education, in partnership with a large number of major Egyptian ministries and institutions, is launching a historic partnership with Italy to transform Egyptian technical education into an international education system with global standards. This will provide students with unique and distinguished opportunities to develop their skills and abilities, as well as obtain an internationally recognized certificate that will open doors to employment opportunities in the local and global markets.
This initiative comes in partnership with leading academies and technical institutes in Italy, aiming to create a qualitative leap in the technical and vocational education system in Egypt. Eighteen protocols were signed to establish and operate 89 applied technology schools, starting in the 2026/2027 academic year, across various industrial and service sectors, adhering to the highest international quality standards.
This partnership marks a significant milestone in the development of technical education. This ambitious initiative reflects Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif's commitment to implementing the Egyptian state's strategy to achieve a qualitative leap in technical education, leading to increased and improved production quality, and enhancing the efficiency of the Egyptian workforce through vocational training based on international standards. This ensures graduates' competitiveness in global markets. The plan also aims to develop the outputs of technical education and align them with the needs of the local and international labor market, thereby contributing to increased youth employment rates. The following are the signed protocols and the specializations offered by the new applied technology schools:
Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industries:
The Ministry of Education signed a cooperation protocol with B-Well and the Technological Institute of the Pharmaceutical Industries – Italy. The Ministry of Education signed a protocol with the Nova Technology di La Vita Academy to establish 10 specialized schools in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Another protocol was signed with the El Sewedy Technical Academy, ITS Agro, and the Italian Institute of Pharmaceutical Industries Technology to establish two specialized schools in the pharmaceutical industry.
The Ministry also signed a cooperation protocol with the Holding Company for Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, and Medical Supplies, and the Italian Institute of Pharmaceutical Industries Technology to establish three schools in the fields of pharmaceuticals, chemicals, medical supplies, and machinery and production line maintenance.
Hospitality Sector
A cooperation protocol was signed between the Ministry of Education, B-Well Company, and the Engem San Paolo 2025 Foundation to establish 10 specialized hospitality schools.
The Ministry also signed another protocol with the El Sewedy Technical Academy and Engem San Paolo Company to establish six schools in the fields of hospitality, mechanics, electronics, and electricity.
Engineering Industries (Mechanical, Electrical, and Welding):
The Ministry of Education signed a cooperation protocol with the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the Ingem San Paolo Foundation to establish three schools specializing in mechanical, electrical, and welding fields.
Iron and Steel Industry:
A cooperation protocol was signed with Ezz Steel Group and the Italian company Danieli to establish ten specialized schools in the iron and steel industry, aiming to prepare qualified technicians to meet the needs of the Egyptian and global labor markets.
Water and Irrigation Technology:
The Ministry of Education signed a cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and the Italian ITS Agro Academy to establish five schools specializing in water resources and irrigation management, technological engineering, infrastructure and facilities, and water treatment and desalination.
Agriculture and Food Industries:
The Ministry of Education signed a cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation and the Italian ITS Agro Academy to establish ten schools specializing in the management, promotion, and marketing of agricultural and food production, and agricultural industries.
A cooperation protocol was also signed between the Ministry, the Future of Egypt Authority for Sustainable Development, and the Italian ITS Agro Academy to establish 26 schools specializing in irrigation technology and modern agriculture.
Sustainable Transport and Logistics
A cooperation protocol was signed with the Elsewedy Technical Academy and the Higher Technical Institute for Sustainable Transport – G. Caputo (Italy) to establish a school of applied technology in the fields of logistics and large industries.
Textiles
The Ministry signed a cooperation protocol with the Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning, Weaving, and Garments and the ITS Meta Academy to establish a school specializing in spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing, and production line maintenance.
Metal Industries
The Ministry of Education signed a cooperation protocol with the Holding Company for Metallurgical Industries and the Nova Technology di La Vita Academy to establish a school specializing in aluminum manufacturing, various metal industries, and production line maintenance.
Fashion and Ready-Made Garments
A cooperation protocol was signed between the Ministry of Education, the Elsewedy Technical Academy, and the Italian ITS Meta Academy to establish a school specializing in fashion and ready-made garments.
