Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received Dr. Giuseppe Valdettara, the Italian Minister of Education, at Cairo International Airport this evening. Dr. Valdettara is visiting Egypt to attend the signing ceremony of cooperation protocols between the two countries for the establishment of 89 new applied technology schools across various specializations.

Following the reception, Minister Abdel Latif met with his Italian counterpart, welcoming him to Egypt and emphasizing that this visit represents a new step towards strengthening the strategic partnership between the two sides, particularly in light of the upcoming signing of several joint cooperation protocols scheduled for tomorrow, which represent a qualitative leap for technical education in Egypt.

For his part, the Italian Minister of Education expressed his country's deep appreciation for the remarkable development witnessed in Egypt's technical education system in recent years. He commended Egypt's strategic approach to making technical education an attractive and effective path for skills development.

He also praised the strength of the bilateral partnership and the success of joint projects, especially the applied technology schools, affirming that the scale of this achievement reflects a strong political will on both sides.

Both sides affirmed that the Egyptian-Italian partnership in technical education serves as a model for the region, and that the next phase will witness continued cooperation to enhance the development of technical education and support the building of qualified technical personnel capable of competing both locally and internationally.

The meeting was attended by Italian Ambassador to Cairo, Agostino Palese, and from the Egyptian Ministry of Education, Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Development and Head of the Applied Technology Schools Operation and Management Unit.
