Italian Press Welcomes Unprecedented Educational Partnership Between Egypt and Italy)

In recent hours, the Italian press has been abuzz with positive coverage of the agreements signed between Egypt and Italy to link 89 Egyptian applied technology schools with five Italian Higher Technological Academies (ITS Academy).

Italian media outlets have described this move as a strategic shift in the educational and economic partnership between the two countries, not merely a fleeting protocol event.

Coverage across various Italian media outlets has unanimously agreed that Egypt has become the largest platform outside Europe for implementing the Italian model of technical education, and that cooperation between the two countries has moved from the level of political understandings to practical, structured implementation within schools.

According to leading Italian online newspapers, Il Giornale focused on the strategic dimension of the agreement, considering it to transcend traditional cooperation by establishing a European-accredited technical education system in Egypt. The newspaper highlighted the expansion of Italian language instruction in preparatory schools, the move to establish ITS pathways in Egypt in partnership with Italian companies, and the visit of Minister Giuseppe Valdtara to Cairo as a turning point in educational relations between the two countries. According to the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore – Scuola, the agreement marks "the beginning of preparing future technicians" in Egypt, with a strong focus on partnership sectors including mechatronics, sustainable transport, chemistry, textiles, health, agriculture, and food. The newspaper noted that the Italian "4+2" model will be integrated into the Egyptian educational system, considered one of the strongest applied education models in Europe.

The Italian Agency for International Development (AGI) highlighted the unprecedented scale of the project, explaining that linking 89 schools with five ITS (Institute for Technical and Vocational Training) facilities makes this the largest educational collaboration between Egypt and Italy. AGI emphasized that Minister Giuseppe Valdtara's official visit had an economic and developmental dimension aimed at preparing technical personnel to meet the market needs of both countries.

In the same vein, the Repubblica Finanza website presented the event within a broader political framework, considering it an extension of the 2024 Memorandum of Understanding and the 2025 Letters of Intent within the "Matti Plan." The website emphasized that technical education has become a tool of Italian economic diplomacy, and that Egypt is a pivotal partner in expanding this model beyond Europe.

The specialized website Orizzontescuola also discussed the transition from the "talk and planning" phase to actual implementation within schools. It highlighted the connection between Egyptian schools and direct expertise from Italian academies, as well as teacher training and curriculum development.

9Colonne noted that Egypt has become the largest platform outside Europe for implementing this model, giving Italian technical education a significant international dimension.

According to the Agenzia Nova agency, the cooperation includes training advanced teaching staff, sending groups of Egyptian teachers for training in Italy, and developing Italian language instruction within Egyptian schools.

According to the Agenzia Giornalistica Opinione platform, the agreement is a project to prepare Egyptian technicians for the future. The platform explained that Italian expertise at ITS will contribute to developing high-level practical skills that meet the growing job opportunities both locally and internationally.

On the other hand, the Resegone Online Varese InLuce website focused on the institutional dimension of the visit, highlighting Giuseppe Valdtara's meetings with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif, and several other relevant ministers. It also gave significant attention to the role of the Don Bosco Institute in Cairo as a symbol of cultural and technical cooperation.

Meanwhile, the AbruzzoLive newspaper offered an in-depth analysis that blended educational, institutional, and cultural dimensions. It highlighted the expansion of Italian language instruction in middle school, the high-level meetings of Italian Minister Giuseppe Valdtara, the export of the Italian model beyond Europe, and the formation of joint working groups in the fields of artificial intelligence and advanced education.
