Mr. Hiroyuki Nakamura, Chairman of the Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Committee, received today Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations in the field of pre-university education development.

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif thanked the Chairman of the Education and Culture Committee in the Japanese Parliament for receiving him, extending his thanks to the Japanese state for the joint projects with the Egyptian state such as the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Egyptian-Japanese schools, which numbered 55 schools.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif stressed that the Egyptian Ministry of Education aims to expand the number of Egyptian-Japanese schools because they reflect the compatibility of the Egyptian and Japanese cultures, noting that the success of the Japanese model encouraged the Egyptian state to present new and innovative models in the fields of technical education and special needs, indicating Egypt's desire to present Egyptian-Japanese schools as a successful model during the "TICAD 9" conference to spread it in African countries in addition to similar models in the field of technical education and education for children with special needs.

For his part, Mr. Hiroyuki Nakamura, Chairman of the Education Committee of the Japanese Parliament, welcomed the Minister and the accompanying Egyptian delegation, praising the interest of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in education and the application of the Japanese education system in Egyptian schools, which indicates the Egyptian-Japanese partnership in the field of education and its contribution to prosperity and development, stressing that the partnership is characterized by providing a learning system based on special activities (Tokkatsu), which contributed to a positive impact on children by shaping their personalities, their distinction, and their ability to innovate and solve problems.

Mr. Hiroyuki Nakamura, Chairman of the Education Committee of the Japanese Parliament, appreciated the intention of Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif to expand this educational system further, and Mr. Hiroyuki Nakamura expressed interest in Japan's participation in exchanging experiences with Egypt in educating people with special needs.

Mr. Hiroyuki Nakamura also indicated his interest in the Kozen system, which has succeeded in other countries and hopes to apply it in Egypt, in addition to cooperation with Japan in the "ATS" system for technical education, which is a partnership system that guarantees good and specialized education that guarantees job opportunities for graduates.

During the meeting, the two parties agreed to enhance cooperation and discuss launching new projects during the TICAD 9 conference, which document the distinguished relations in all fields of education and culture.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif extended an invitation to Mr. Hiroyuki Nakamura, Chairman of the Education Committee in the Japanese Parliament and its members to visit Egypt and inspect the Egyptian-Japanese schools and the Egyptian-Japanese University.

This was attended by Ambassador Mohamed Abu Bakr, Egypt's Ambassador to Japan, Dr. Hani Hilal, Secretary General of the Egyptian Partnership for Education, Ms. Nevin Hamouda, Advisor to the Minister for Strategic Relations and Supervisor of the Egyptian-Japanese Schools, Dr. Hanem Ahmed, Advisor to the Minister for International Relations and Agreements, and Ms. Amira Awad, the Ministry's Coordinator for United Nations Organizations.
