Minister of Education receives the new German ambassador to Cairo)

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received Ambassador Jürgen Scholz, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Cairo, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in mechanisms for implementing joint projects that contribute to developing the educational process and supporting education reform on an ongoing basis, as well as future cooperation opportunities.

This was attended by Mr. Alexis Bello, Head of the Economic Department at the German Embassy, ​​and Maha Wissa, Project Manager and Official in the Education and Culture Department at the German Embassy.

From the Ministry's side, Ms. Mona Ayoub, the Minister's Advisor for the New Egyptian-German Schools Initiative, Counselor Ashraf El-Sayed, the Ministry's Legal Advisor, and Dr. Sherine Hamdy, the Minister's Advisor for International Relations and Agreements, attended.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif expressed his happiness with this meeting, which confirms the depth of fruitful and constructive cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Ministry's aspiration, during the coming period, to further cooperation with the German side by activating new programs; towards achieving Egypt's vision for sustainable development 2030.

For his part, Ambassador Jürgen Scholz stressed that Egypt is an important partner for Germany in several fields, most notably education, expressing his keenness to continue strengthening the close German-Egyptian relations and means of cooperation between the two countries, with the aim of achieving an educational system that meets the needs of Egyptian society.

The meeting discussed the mechanisms for announcing the launch of the (100) Egyptian-German schools project, for which the terms of a new agreement to establish them have been completed through a formula for joint cooperation.

The meeting also discussed the latest developments in this project, which is currently being implemented at a rapid pace, by identifying appropriate school buildings according to the guidelines for modern educational buildings in the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as striving to open the first school of the project by making use of distinguished Egyptian expertise, in addition to the mechanisms for managing these schools, preparing modern curricula in addition to the ministry's curriculum to support the German language, in addition to holding special training for male and female teachers in coordination and cooperation with the German side.
