Minister of Education receives UAE Ambassador to Egypt
Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received today Her Excellency Ambassador Mariam Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation in the field of pre-university education.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Iman Al Hosani, Technical Attaché at the Education and Technology Attaché at the UAE Embassy in Cairo.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the Ambassador, stressing the depth, strength and interconnectedness of relations between Egypt and the sisterly United Arab Emirates, which reflects the importance of enhancing cooperation in the field of education and creating new investment opportunities between the two countries in this field.
Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif stressed that the Egyptian state places the education file as a top priority, believing that building the Egyptian person is the way to achieve sustainable development, reviewing the success of the model of applied technology schools, which witnessed an increase in enrollment; due to the provision of job opportunities for graduates inside and outside Egypt, with the participation of the private sector, to prepare a qualified, trained student capable of competing in the labor market, whether locally or globally, as their number currently stands at 81 schools.
For her part, Ambassador Mariam Al Kaabi expressed her happiness with this meeting, and the enhancement of opportunities for great areas of cooperation between the UAE and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Ambassador Mariam Al Kaabi stressed that the UAE is keen to enhance cooperation with the sisterly state of Egypt in various fields, including the pre-university education file, within the framework of the close and historical relations and ties between the two countries.
The meeting witnessed a study of ways of cooperation between the two countries to expand the establishment of applied technology schools within the framework of the Egyptian state's orientation to increase the number of these schools, and according to the required specialized needs.
Means of enhancing opportunities for the Emirati side to participate in projects that aim to develop the educational system were also discussed, including the establishment of new schools in Egypt in cooperation with the Emirati side, in addition to discussing ways to exchange experiences regarding the accreditation and quality system for schools.
