The Ministers of Labor and Education announce the start of implementing the "Joint Protocol")

Mr. Mohamed Gebran, Minister of Labor, and Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, announced today, Wednesday, the start of implementing the cooperation protocol signed between the two ministries in September 2024, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labor, regarding linking the outcomes of vocational education and training to the needs of the labor market, and participating in the operation and management of fixed training centers affiliated with the Ministry of Labor, in all governorates, which enhances the increase in the number of trainees from students and new graduates, and those wishing to train in the professions needed by the labor market, during study periods, as well as summer vacations.

In this context, a number of students from industrial schools in Qena Governorate began receiving training courses in the professions of electricity, plumbing, sewing, and embroidery, in coordination between the Directorates of Labor and Education in the governorate, and practical implementation procedures have also begun in the rest of the governorates.

Gebran pointed out that the Ministry of Labor has an integrated vocational training system, consisting of fixed training centers that provide training services to young people for free, especially within the villages of the presidential initiative "Decent Life", as well as the "New Beginning for Human Development" initiative. Gebran said that linking training to the needs of the labor market was a dream that is now being fulfilled in light of the integration of the two ministries to achieve the graduation of a worker at a level that suits the patterns of the labor market, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic. Gebran explained that the protocol includes cooperation, coordination and benefiting from the capabilities of the two ministries in terms of expertise, vocational training centers, schools and classes for technical and industrial education, and advanced curricula to expand the training process to keep pace with the culture of the new republic.

For his part, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, stressed the importance of continuing to implement this protocol within the framework of the Egyptian state's plan to develop capabilities and qualify young people for future professions and the labor market. It also comes within the framework of expanding policies to support technical and technological education and adding more than 30 new technical schools.

The Minister of Education added that technical education is one of the most important files that the Ministry is keen to make every effort to develop in cooperation with various ministries and entities, as it represents one of the most important ways to achieve sustainable development, pointing out that the Ministry’s vision aims to create a breakthrough in the technical education system to graduate students whose skills and abilities keep pace with the changing requirements of the labor market.
