Within the framework of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education's interest in supporting and developing the skills of future generations of technical workers, which is an important step towards forming the new republic and achieving Egypt's vision 2030, the Applied Technology Schools Operation and Management Unit has established the Department of Labor Market and Employment Information, due to the importance of having a system for planning and monitoring Labor market information, which contributes to the establishment of a database on the basis of which correct decisions based on scientific foundations are taken, in addition to the department's work to establish a professional system to market technicians graduates of applied technology schools to employ them in the local and regional labor market.

Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education, and Director of the Applied Technology Schools Operation and Management Unit, said that within the framework of the unit’s objectives towards establishing modern technical disciplines that are in line with the labor market, and preparing qualified graduates to work in the local and international market, the Labor Market and Employment Information Department has followed up Graduates and work to help them find decent job opportunities, as a survey was conducted to identify the needs of industrial companies in Egypt, and the fields and skills they require, in addition to preparing a report on employment indicators and expectations of labor market trends with an analysis of the deficit and surplus in skills.

The A Tracer Study was also launched to study the views of students of applied technology schools towards all elements of the educational process and field training and to study the characteristics and practices of students during their studies, in addition to studying their future needs to predict the professional future of graduates of applied technology schools. Tracking graduates to track the paths of graduates of applied technology schools, hold meetings with graduates, workshops on transition mechanisms to the labor market, panel discussions on the challenges facing graduates, recommendations and requirements for the next stage to obtain decent job opportunities, and help students participate in various employment forums and programs Employment training.

It is worth noting that in the academic year 2021/2022, 1,308 male and female students graduated from applied technology schools, and the percentage of those who joined universities or the labor market reached 75% of the total graduates, and communication is underway with graduates who did not find a job opportunity to help them join the labor market through the department Labor market and employment information.
