Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, announced the launch of the "Egypt Schools Olympiad" competition in all governorates of the Republic during the coming period, following the inauguration of the competition's activities in Suez Governorate under the slogan "Together we grow".

This came during the activities of the final of the "Egypt Schools Olympiad" competition in Suez Governorate, in the presence of Major General Abdel Magid Saqr, Governor of Suez, Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister for Technological Development, Dr. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development and Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister's Office, and Dr. Iman Hassan, Head of the Central Administration for Activities. Student.

This competition is part of the Ministry of Education's initiatives to revive student activity and discover talents in schools.

Dr. Reda Hijazi said, in his speech during the ceremony, that the school has returned to its normal role, pointing out that the school is not just passing an exam and education should not be reduced to this idea, as the achievement test is just a means and should never turn into an end.

The Minister expressed his happiness with the implementation of the Day of Sports, Cultural and Artistic Activities launched by the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, which demonstrated the role of the school in preparing the student for life, and the students benefiting from this experience, praising the performance of the teams participating in the competition, both in the way of thinking, and the method of identifying the problem by conducting questionnaires. And interviews, stressing that students thrive and innovate through such opportunities.

The minister pointed out the importance of shedding light on distinguished educational models such as schools for outstanding students in science and technology (STEM) and schools of applied technology.

The minister said: "The success that has been achieved confirms that free reading and the acquisition of general culture gives the student space and more opportunity to learn. Therefore, among the evaluation mechanisms for the cognitive competitions was achieving the greatest amount in reading."

Dr. Reda Hegazy added, "Reading plays a major role in achieving intellectual maturity among students, indicating that Egypt's Vision 2030 is achieved by having a student who is proud of himself, proud of his country, capable of pluralism, and able to compete."

The minister stressed that the student's practice of one activity can achieve learning outcomes for him, explaining that the experiments that took place during the competition activities proved impressive success.

At the end of his speech, the Minister thanked the Governor of Suez, stressing that from the valiant Suez Governorate, the initiative will be launched to all governorates of Egypt, stressing that all the initiatives that were presented in the event will be adopted by the Ministry of Education and Technical Education.

During his speech, Major General Abd al-Majid Saqr, Governor of Suez, expressed his happiness for choosing the conservative Ministry of Education to launch the “Egypt Schools Olympiad,” pointing to the presence of a strong educational directorate and teachers who deserve all appreciation and respect, and our students expressing their desire to reach the highest positions.

At the end of the events, the Minister and the Governor of Suez honored the arbitration committee and project managers, and the teams participating in the Olympiad were fully honored, and a certificate of appreciation was presented to the 16 teams participating in the competition.

The minister and governor of Suez also honored the talented male and female students in various fields who participated in the Olympiad with their talents in drawing, playing, singing and reciting.

The New Suez Secondary School for Girls and Mostafa Musharfa Preparatory Joint School were also honored for winning the development projects competition in the first place.

The team of the New Suez Secondary School for girls was also honored in the recreational sports competition, and the team of Nabawiya Musa Preparatory School was honored in the knowledge competition.
