The Minister of Education meets with the CEO of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE)

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with Ms. Laura Frigeni, CEO of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), on the sidelines of his participation in the Human Capability Initiative (HCI) conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The conference is organized by the Human Capability Development Authority with the aim of developing human capital and enhancing sustainable education opportunities.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister emphasized that the Global Partnership for Education is one of the important strategic partnerships that the Ministry is keen to strengthen. He emphasized the Ministry's commitment to activating this cooperation to support the development of the education system in Egypt and achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, in accordance with international quality standards and the Egyptian government's program to build individuals capable of competing locally and globally.
The Minister pointed out that Egypt has a unique opportunity to expand digital skills training within the public education system and attract private sector investments, thus enhancing digital transformation efforts. He explained that digital transformation is not merely a technical development, but rather a key pillar for achieving more efficient, flexible, and responsive education to future challenges.
The Minister also emphasized that Egypt does not view educational development in isolation from its regional environment, but rather prioritizes supporting joint Arab cooperation in the field of digital education. By working with the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and regional partners, Egypt can contribute to formulating a comprehensive digital education framework for the Arab world that supports knowledge exchange, provides open access to training platforms, and enhances skills-upgrading initiatives, contributing to the creation of an integrated Arab educational community capable of facing modern challenges.
Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif continued that multilateral cooperation is not limited to funding alone, but is based on unified visions and values of justice and regional solidarity. He indicated Egypt's readiness to intensify its efforts in this area, with the support of the GPE as a reliable partner in transforming this vision into reality.
For her part, the CEO of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) expressed her deep appreciation for Egypt's efforts to advance the education system, stressing that the remarkable progress in education policies and the expansion of digital transformation projects reflect an ambitious vision to build a more inclusive and innovative education system. She added that Egypt is one of the active and influential countries within the partnership, with its genuine will for reform and its ability to make a tangible impact on national and regional education.
Ms. Laura Frigeni emphasized that the Global Partnership, which includes 90 countries, focuses on ensuring quality and equitable education and learning for all by supporting effective education systems capable of adapting to rapid changes, particularly those related to digital transformation and artificial intelligence. She emphasized the importance of building flexible education systems that support innovation and adapt to future needs.
The meeting discussed the partnership's future strategy for the period from 2025 to 2030, ways to cooperate to implement education reform plans in Egypt, and funding plans to support educational projects aimed at improving learning outcomes and developing basic and 21st-century skills among students. It also discussed enhancing technical education and developing the capacities of teachers, who are the cornerstone of the educational process.
