Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, accompanied Dr. Giuseppe Valditara, Italian Minister of Education and Entitlement, as part of his official visit to Egypt, on a visit to the "Egyptian International Leadership Center for Empowering People with Special Needs" affiliated to the Ministry of Education in 10th of Ramadan City, in the presence of Ambassador Michele Quaroni, Ambassador of Italy to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The two ministers were accompanied during the tour by Dr. Ayman Bahaa El-Din, Deputy Minister, Eng. Ahmed El-Sewedy, Chairman and CEO of El-Sewedy Electric, Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Development, Dr. Hala Abdel Salam, Head of the Central Administration for General Education, Dr. Medhat Helal, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development, and Dr. Sahar El-Alfy, Director General of the General Administration for Special Education.

The two ministers began their tour of the Egyptian International Leadership Center for Empowering People with Special Needs by inspecting the various clinic halls, which number 18 clinics, including 8 audiology clinics, 4 speech clinics, and 6 functional behavior halls, as the clinics are equipped with the latest devices in the world.

The two ministers also inspected the training halls, workshops, and activities that support specialists and parents to deal with their children, and watched sports, water, and entertainment shows for students.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif stressed that the Egyptian International Leadership Center for Empowering People with Special Needs is one of the largest centers that provide treatment and rehabilitation services to integrated students and people with special needs in Africa and the Arab world, noting that the file of people with special needs is at the top of the priorities of the political leadership.

The minister added that based on this national vision, the center was launched and activated, to be a beacon and an Egyptian destination in the field of rehabilitation, support, and empowerment for people with special needs and their families, in line with the Egyptian state strategy 2030, which is based on achieving social justice and integrating all groups into the sustainable development process.

For his part, the Italian Minister of Education and Entitlement appreciated what he witnessed during his visit to the center of an advanced and developed level of therapeutic and rehabilitation services for people with special needs, praising the Egyptian state's keenness to empower and integrate people with special needs into society.

It is worth noting that the Egyptian International Riyada Center for Empowering People with Special Needs was established in the city of Tenth of Ramadan in 2019 under the direction of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and was relaunched on January 12 with a new vision that keeps pace with international standards in treating and empowering people with special needs. The center is also one of the largest rehabilitation centers for people with special needs in the Arab world and Africa, with an area of ​​​​24 thousand square meters, interspersed with green spaces at a rate of up to 70% of the total area, and the building area is 5200 thousand square meters and consists of three floors.

The center provides many services to children with special needs with high quality, as it provides all care for children and their families and everything the child needs in one place in order to facilitate him and his family.

One of the most prominent services provided by the center is the idea of ​​a one-day trip in which all the services the child needs are provided. It also provides a comprehensive care model for the child at all levels, including (education, rehabilitation and entertainment), which is part of the center's various services that include medical services, rehabilitation services such as physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, sensory integration, and skill development, in addition to music and art therapy. The center also provides specialized rehabilitation programs for learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, and others.

In light of the services provided by the center, the "Build Your Son" initiative was launched with the aim of supporting students with special needs and their families. The initiative aims to provide care and rehabilitation for children with special needs, in addition to educating parents on how to best deal with their children.

The center receives an average of 250 cases per day from students and children throughout the week from governorates and various education schools, whether integrated students or special education schools, and they are dealt with through the center's activities. 18 activity departments have also been created to develop the skills of students with special abilities and their families.
