The Minister of Education discusses the most important issues and challenges facing the education system
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held a meeting with a number of the ministry’s leaders, directors of education directorates, directors and deputies of educational departments, and school principals in the Cairo, Giza, and Sharqia directorates. At the beginning of a series of periodic meetings that will be organized at the republic level, in order to review the most important issues facing the educational process according to the challenges on the ground, and to present urgent proposals and solutions that can be implemented before the beginning of the 2024/2025 academic year.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the leadership of the Ministry, stressing that close work and cooperation with educational directorates and departments, as well as within schools, is his top priority, to confront the problems and challenges of the educational process.
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Latif also stressed that the periodic meetings aim to listen to all realistic problems and receive actual proposals and solutions within the framework of available capabilities.
The Minister pointed out that there are four main challenges facing the education system that will be focused on confronting them by all means and means during the next stage, which are the availability to cope with student densities in classes, the inability of teachers and their training in line with the developed curricula, attracting students to schools, and the burden of curricula at the general secondary stage, noting that setting Solutions that suit reality and eliminate chronic challenges come through collective efforts with the participation of all parties in the educational process.
The meeting witnessed an extensive discussion about the existing conditions inside schools and the challenges on the ground, where the Minister listened to all the different opinions and proposals, stressing that the four main challenges represent long-term challenges that students and parents have been suffering from for many years, stressing that they will be the most important areas of his work.
This came in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister, Dr. Ayman Bahaa El-Din Al-Bassal, Deputy Minister for Technical Education, Major General Alaa Atawiya, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Sherine Hamdi, Advisor to the Minister for International Relations and Agreements and Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister’s Office, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Mohammadi, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning and Follow-up. Dr. Hala Abdel Salam, Head of the Central Administration for Public Education, Professor Khaled Abdel Hakam, Head of the Central Administration for Educational Directorates Affairs, Professor Mohamed Attia, Head of the Central Administration for Education with Expenses, Professor Ayman Moussa, Director of the Directorate of Education in Cairo, Professor Ashraf Salouma, Director of the Directorate of Education in Giza, and Professor Ali Abdel Raouf, Director of the Directorate of Education in the Eastern Province, and a number of directors, deputies, department directors, and school principals in the three governorates.
