Today, Monday, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated in the fourth plenary session of the Global Education Forum 2023 in the British capital, London, which was held under the title "How education should develop the resilience of its people."
This came with the participation of Elizabeth White, Director of the British Council in Egypt, Shaimaa Al-Banna, Head of the Science Department at the British Council, Dr. Rasha Kamal, Cultural Attaché at the Egyptian Embassy in Britain, as well as 835 participants and 150 ministers from various countries of the world.
Dr. Reda Hegazy made an intervention, during the session, at the outset of which he expressed his happiness to participate in the Global Education Forum 2023, stressing that his participation in this important forum, which includes nearly 150 ministers from different countries of the world, comes within the framework of the Egyptian state's keenness to exchange expertise and experiences. With various countries on the development of the educational system, pointing out that Egypt attaches utmost importance to the development of its educational system, which it has taken upon itself in order to achieve it intensive steps over the years in various axes with the aim of achieving learning outcomes and relying on achieving understanding rather than memorizing study materials, as well as developing capabilities Students through integrating technology into the educational process in line with the jobs of the times and the future and the successive technological developments the world is witnessing.
The minister also stressed the efforts of the Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education to address the phenomenon of dropping out of education, explaining that the ministry is working with all its capabilities on the axis of accessibility, considering that education is a human right to life, adding that Egypt has an important experience, which is community education schools that aim to bridge the sources of illiteracy and give An opportunity for drop-out students of different ages and social environments to join the education train by receiving special curricula through specialized teachers, in close cooperation with all Egyptian state institutions and civil society organizations and following the strategy of decentralization.
The minister pointed out that there is a close relationship between education and the fertility rate, noting that the Egyptian state harnesses all its capabilities in order to achieve the strategy of developing the education system and facing the most important challenge represented by the population increase, which in turn requires an increase in the number of teachers, schools and classes to keep pace with the increase in the number of enrollments in the education system. .
Dr. Reda Hegazy praised the role of the British Council in Egypt in building effective cooperation between education ministers in various countries of the world.
On the sidelines of his participation in the forum, the minister met with the Libyan Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Omran Al-Qayeb, where the two ministers discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in developing the education system.
It is worth noting that Dr. Reda Hegazy had participated this morning in the opening session of the forum, which dealt with the mechanisms of change in order to develop better and bolder teaching and learning opportunities, as well as ways to enhance cooperation in order to achieve this step.
