Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with Ms. Lulwa bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Chairman of the Qatari National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, to discuss joint cooperation files and ways to enhance cooperation in the field of developing pre-university education.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Al-Mohammadi, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning and Follow-up, on the sidelines of Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif's participation in the 14th Conference of Arab Ministers of Education under the slogan "Comprehensive Education and Empowering Teachers: A Strategic Vision for Education in the Arab World" organized by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the State of Qatar and the Qatari National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, during the period from January 5 to 7, 2025.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, expressed his deep appreciation for the fruitful relations in the field of developing pre-university education, stressing the importance of cooperation to improve the quality of the educational process to ensure a better future for future generations.

During the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif reviewed the Egyptian experience in facing the challenges facing the educational process in Egypt with the aim of achieving better education for students, explaining that the problem of overcrowding has been eliminated, and the number of students in the class has been reduced to less than 50 students, in addition to solving the problem of the shortage in the number of teachers, in addition to restructuring the secondary stage to enhance the quality of education in schools, as well as attracting students to schools.

The Minister also reviewed the experience of applied technology schools, which have achieved great success, due to the specializations they offer in many fields, and the increase in demand to join them, due to their provision of job opportunities for graduates inside and outside Egypt, noting that the Ministry seeks to increase the number of applied technology schools in various governorates, which contributes to improving the quality of outputs and levels of technical and professional skills for technical education students and graduating students capable of competing and joining the local and international labor market in various fields and specializations.

The Minister also discussed the Egyptian education experience in the STEM schools for the gifted and talented to care for the gifted and talented and develop their capabilities, stressing that the "STEM" model is one of the most important successful educational experiences in Egypt and that its curricula are based on the integration of different subjects and the design of learning outcomes that are in line with national and international standards, noting that the Egyptian educational system was able through this model to achieve many international awards and present many innovations that were adopted by all state institutions, and many of its students were able to win advanced positions in international competitions that received praise from various countries of the world.

For her part, Mrs. Lulwa bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater, Minister of Education and Higher Education in the State of Qatar, expressed her pride in the joint cooperation with the Egyptian side, stressing the State of Qatar's openness to enhancing means of cooperation with the Egyptian state in the field of pre-university education in various fields.

The Minister of Education and Higher Education in the State of Qatar explained the State of Qatar's direction to expand the development of vocational and technical education within the state and its keenness to enhance cooperation with the Egyptian state in this field.

The meeting witnessed discussions on enhancing cooperation in developing new programs for teacher training and exchanging expertise in developing Egyptian and Qatari curricula.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif extended an invitation to the Minister of Education and Higher Education in the State of Qatar to visit Egypt to learn about the Egyptian experience in the field of pre-university education, Egypt's experience in schools for the gifted in science and technology, and schools of applied technology, in addition to learning about the various educational models included in the education sector in Egypt, and the efforts it is making to improve the quality of the educational system and provide real education to students in schools.
