Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held a meeting with Mr. Jamal bin Huwaireb, Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation. To discuss ways of joint cooperation, in the presence of Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister of Education for Technological Development, and Dr. Hani Turki, the main technical advisor to the Arab Knowledge Project, in the private education building in New Cairo.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ayman Ashour stressed the importance of investing in education. Being one of the most important pillars of sustainable development in Egypt, he pointed out that investing in education contributes to developing young people’s skills and abilities, and helps them integrate into the labor market effectively.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance integration between the two ministries, ensure facilitation of students’ transition from one stage to another, and link pre-university education with university education.

The meeting also dealt with developing students’ skills and providing more information and support to help the student determine his educational path and choose university majors appropriate to his interests and abilities.

In this context, it was agreed to open horizons for cooperation in the field of qualifying young people to face the challenges of the future, by providing them with the skills that qualify them to play a pivotal role in community development.

For his part, Dr. Reda Hegazy stressed the Ministry’s keenness that these efforts bring about a qualitative shift in education in Egypt, and produce a generation of students capable of keeping up with the challenges and building a better future for them.

The meeting also discussed the development in Egyptian education with regard to supporting the knowledge index, the progress made in the field of investment in education, and its impact on improving the quality of education in Egypt.

For his part, the Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation stressed the depth of the Egyptian-Emirati relationship, pointing to Egypt’s pioneering role in the Arab region, pointing to the keenness of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation to cooperate with the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Education to raise the index. Competitiveness in the fields of pre-university and higher education.

The meeting reviewed the standards governing the knowledge index, and how to cooperate between concerned parties, in a way that reflects the development and progress that has occurred in this system.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to develop an action plan that includes the necessary steps and procedures to implement the objectives of the meeting, and to emphasize joint cooperation, in order to develop the education system in Egypt and achieve the best results for students.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Sherif Kishk, Assistant Minister for Smart Governance, Dr. Abeer Al-Shater, Assistant Minister for Technical Affairs and General Supervisor of the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning, Training and Qualification for the Labor Market, and Dr. Mohamed Al-Sharqawi, Assistant Minister for Policies and Economic Affairs and Secretary-General of the Egyptian Knowledge Bank. Dr. Howaida Ezzat, Director General of the General Administration of the Media Office, and from the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, Mr. Shadi Abdullah Zaltah, the media advisor and official spokesperson for the Ministry.
