Minister of Education Inspects Construction Sites of Several New Schools in El Marg

As part of the Ministry of Education's commitment to expanding the number of schools in areas with high student density and ending the two-shift system in some areas, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, conducted a field tour today during which he inspected several sites designated for the construction of new schools in the El Marg area of Cairo Governorate. The aim is to end the two-shift system starting next academic year.
The Minister was accompanied during the tour by Dr. Ahmed El-Mohammadi, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning and Follow-up and Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Minister's Office Affairs; Major General Yousry Salem, Assistant Minister for Educational Buildings Authority Affairs; Ms. Samah Ibrahim, Director of the Cairo Education Directorate; Mr. Ayman El-Fakharany, Director of the El Marg Education Administration; and a number of Ministry leaders, officials from the Educational Buildings Authority, and representatives from the El Marg Education Administration.
At the beginning of his tour, the Minister inspected the latest developments at the construction site of a school in the Marg area, designed to accommodate the largest number of students in the surrounding area. During the tour, he emphasized the importance of expediting construction work according to the highest quality standards and adhering to the timetable for handing over schools before the start of the new school year.
The Minister then inspected the Education Administration building to assess the progress of the transfer of its staff to a new, newly completed building, which will accommodate 446 employees.
The Minister then inspected the utilization of spaces at the Al-Amal School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, which comprises 16 classrooms for middle and secondary education.
Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif also inspected the Chamber of Commerce Official Language School, which comprises 25 classrooms, to assess the expansions undertaken and to assess efforts to reduce evening shifts at Marg schools. He directed the use of mobile classrooms and the utilization of spaces, while maintaining the science labs and library.
At the conclusion of his tour, the Minister inspected Omar bin Abdulaziz Elementary School, where he reviewed steps taken to reduce classroom density to 45 students last academic year. He also inspected the Andalusia School under construction, directing that all preparations be completed by mid-August.
The Minister explained that the Marj area is one of the densely populated areas, and therefore the construction of new schools there is a priority to achieve fairness in the distribution of educational services.
The Minister concluded his tour by emphasizing the continued field follow-up by the Ministry's leadership to ensure that any obstacles facing implementation are overcome. He emphasized that the Ministry aims to end the two-shift system, using available mechanisms and the efforts made to expand the number of schools in the region. He also emphasized that these steps represent a priority to achieve fairness in the distribution of educational services in the region.
