The Minister of Education chairs the meeting of the General Authority for Educational Buildings.
Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, chaired the meeting of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Educational Buildings; to review the achievements of the Authority's projects during the current year, discuss a number of projects that the Authority is implementing, as well as discuss the general budget of the investment plan of the General Authority for Educational Buildings for the fiscal year 2025/2026.
This was attended by Major General Yasser Salem, Assistant Minister for Educational Buildings Affairs, the Authority's leaders and engineers, and members of the Board of Directors.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the members of the Authority's Board of Directors, representatives of ministries, and expert university professors, appreciating the efforts of educational buildings that are evident on the ground, which have contributed and are contributing to facing the challenge of student densities.
The Minister explained that the Ministry's strategy is based on building the Egyptian person, and that the student is qualified for the labor market, and able to face the challenges of the twenty-first century.
The Minister reviewed the mechanisms and solutions to the challenges facing the educational process, noting that many efforts have been made on the ground to bring the current student attendance rate to more than 95% in various schools across the country.
In this regard, the Minister confirmed that the Ministry is working through a clear plan with the Educational Buildings Authority to provide many plots of land to build schools on, and 98,000 classrooms have been created during the current academic year through the implementation of many mechanisms and technical solutions.
The Minister continued: "Our goal at the current stage is to continue the discipline of the educational process and the regularity of students in attendance, and to activate the role of schools in education and real learning," appreciating the role of the Educational Buildings Authority, which is one of the essential elements to solve the challenge of student densities through a study prepared by the Authority for all governorates.
The Minister stressed the continuation of the success of the discipline of the educational process in cooperation with all concerned parties and the Educational Buildings Authority, explaining that there is an increase in the number of students enrolled in schools annually by approximately 700,000 students who need 17,000 classrooms, which requires intensive efforts to maintain the density of classes at no more than 50 students per class.
The meeting reviewed the achievements of construction, replacement, renovation and establishment of schools. The meeting also discussed the draft general budget for the Authority's investment plan for the fiscal year 2025/2026, which was prepared within the framework of Egypt's Vision 2030, and also within the framework of the strategic plan of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, which includes the Ministry's vision for quality and excellence-based education and training based on sustainability and fair availability to prepare a learner capable of creativity and global competitiveness. The meeting also discussed the main axes of the Authority's investment plan, including the implementation of construction and replacement projects for classrooms, projects that will be completed next year 2025/2026, new projects scheduled to be launched, and the development and upgrading of school buildings.
