The Minister of Education meets members of the Executive Office of the Council of the Students' Union of Republic Schools
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met today with members of the Executive Office of the Republic Schools Student Union Council, within the framework of students' participation in the decision-making policy.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Reda Hijazi welcomed the attendees, stressing that the student is the master of the educational process, and that all elements of the educational system work to achieve the student’s interest and preserve his right to obtain a high-quality education and aims to move from memorization and indoctrination to understanding and learning.
He pointed out that the ministry aims to make the role of students not limited to being recipients of information, but rather becoming beneficiaries of an integrated system, as we work to provide students with information and life skills that shape their intellectual structure and behavior in order to achieve Egypt's Vision 2030.
During the meeting, the minister reviewed the ministry's strategy, which was implemented in the current academic year, which included integrating technology into education by applying viewing periods in classrooms, by taking advantage of our school's channels (1,2,3), in addition to implementing the Activities Day. In schools in the governorates, which aim to discover and nurture talented people in a number of different sports, cultural and artistic fields.
The minister touched on talking about the high school stage and the examination system, where the minister confirmed that we aim at the high school stage to train students in the skills of thinking, analysis and creativity to measure the intellectual and cognitive skills of the student, indicating that the specifications of the examination paper for the general secondary certificate exams have been completed, as they include The exam paper contains multiple-choice questions (MCQ) and the return of short essay questions at a rate not exceeding 15% according to the nature of each subject.
The Minister of Education and Technical Education indicated that 5,000 teachers will be trained on the new system, teaching practices, and how to prepare test vocabulary at this level.
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, promised the students, members of the executive office of the Republic Schools Student Union Council, that a meeting would be held with them frequently because they are representatives of all Egyptian students.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development and Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister’s Office, Mr. Khaled Abdel Hakam, Head of the Central Administration for Dropouts from Education and Community Education, and Mr. Ahmed Musa, Director of the Student Unions Department and Major General of the School Students Union, and a number of students who are members of the Executive Office of the Council Republic School Students Union.
