The Minister of Education meets the German ambassador to discuss ways of cooperation to develop pre-university education
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with Mr. Frank Hartmann, German Ambassador in Cairo, and the delegation of the Subcommittee for Cultural and Educational Policies in the Federal Parliament (Bundestag), headed by Mr. Michael Muller, Member of Parliament for the Federal Democratic Party, to discuss all aspects of cooperation in the field of education, at the Diwan General of the Ministry.
The minister welcomed the attendees, expressing his happiness at that meeting, which confirms the close relations between the two countries for more than a hundred years, pointing to the interest of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Republic, in fruitful cooperation with the German side in all fields, especially in the field of education, and supports the initiative to build schools German schools, similar to Japanese schools, in addition to his interest in partnering with the German side in the field of technical education and vocational training.
The Minister also praised the cooperation with the German government and benefiting from its experiences in the field of education development, explaining that there are many aspects of cooperation between the two sides, the most important of which are the projects of the German Development Bank KFW; To support the quality of education in a number of governorates, support the establishment of a Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority for Technical, Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institutions and Programs (ETQAAN), and the establishment of an Academy for Technical and Vocational Education Teachers (TVETA), in addition to supporting the German side in the expansion and quality assurance of applied technology schools.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Mujahid, Deputy Minister for Technical Education, said that the ministry is taking a fast pace in the field of developing technical education and vocational training, explaining that the number of students in technical education schools increases every year because of the demand for students to obtain technical education, which gives them the acquisition of high skills to match the market. Local and international work, as well as providing them with theoretical education at school and practical application in factories, and opening job opportunities for them inside and outside the country.
The Deputy Minister indicated that in the past, the student was forced to enter technical education because of the low grades, but now with the tremendous development, the student has chosen himself the technical education appropriate for his abilities, and technical education students have become among the highest grades, explaining that girls have outperformed boys in hurrying to Enrollment in technical education.
For his part, the German Ambassador in Cairo, Frank Hartmann, expressed his happiness with this meeting and the successes and positive results of cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, pointing out that Egypt is an important partner for Germany, as the two countries have a partnership full of trust that extends for decades, stressing his country's aspiration to contribute to the formulation and formation of These close relations, especially in the field of education, expressing his country's desire to provide all support to the president's initiative to establish German schools, and to actively contribute to the development of technical education.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Muhammad Mujahid, Deputy Minister of Technical Education, Mona Ayoub, Advisor to the Minister for International and Private Education, Dr. Hanim Ahmed, Advisor to the Minister for International Cooperation, and Dr. Randa Shaheen, Head of the Central Department of Public Education.
