Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received today Mr. Thani Mohamed Soilihi, French Minister of State for Francophonie and International Partnerships, and Ambassador Eric Chevalier, French Ambassador to Cairo, and their accompanying delegation; to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation projects in the field of pre-university education, especially enhancing the quality of French language education in Egypt.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the attendees, stressing the depth of the strategic and historical relations between Egypt and France in various fields, especially in the field of pre-university education, and the Ministry's interest in French education in general and teaching the French language in particular, praising the graduates of French schools and their success in the labor market, in addition to the Ministry's aspiration to expand the number of schools that teach the French International Certificate (BAC), which currently number 15 schools, and the Egyptian private schools that teach French as a first language, which number 53 schools, as the Ministry aims to increase the number of these schools in cooperation with the French side by providing technical support.

The Minister also stressed the importance of improving the quality of French language education in schools that teach it as a first language, as well as utilizing the expertise of the French side in developing French language curricula in a way that contributes to improving teaching methods and ensuring the provision of education in line with international standards, adding that support through supervision of the teaching of the French language will have a significant impact in achieving the desired educational goals.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif pointed out that the Ministry of Education spares no effort to enable all those interested in the French language to improve their levels, expand the training of French language teachers and raise their professional competence, adding that strengthening Francophonie is an important step towards developing students' skills and expanding their educational horizons.

For his part, the French Minister of State in charge of Francophonie and International Partnerships expressed his happiness with this meeting, which aims to enhance students' opportunities in Egypt to benefit from Francophonie, which provides valuable opportunities for them through programs aimed at enhancing professional skills and increasing their opportunities in the labor market, and providing important development and educational opportunities through various programs.

For his part, the French Ambassador to Cairo praised the strong partnership between Egypt and France in the field of pre-university education, stressing his country's commitment to supporting joint efforts to advance the educational process in Egypt and enhance the quality of the French language in Egypt.

The meeting was attended from the French side by Mr. David Sadoulet, Advisor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs, Ms. Clemence Vidal de la Blache, Director of the French Development Agency (AFD), Mr. Anthony Chaumuzio, and Mr. Hugo Rousteing from the French delegation.

From the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, Dr. Akram Hassan, Assistant Minister for Curriculum Development Affairs, Ms. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for International Relations and Agreements and Supervisor of the Central Administration for Minister's Office Affairs, Dr. Rasha El-Geoushy, Coordinator of the Ministry for Academic Affairs for International Schools, and Iman Yassin from the International Relations Department attended.
