Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received today at the Ministry’s general office Hong Jin Wook, Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea in Cairo, and his accompanying delegation; To discuss means of cooperation in the fields of educational technology and technical education development.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Tariq Shawky welcomed the attendees, stressing the depth of relations between Egypt and South Korea in many fields, indicating the Egyptian state’s keenness to strengthen cooperation ties between the two countries in the field of education and sustainable development, and to benefit from the distinguished Korean expertise in the development of this sector. Important.

The minister praised the cooperation between the two countries in the field of educational technology, wishing for more cooperation to achieve the maximum benefit for students in the various educational stages.

For his part, Hong Jin Wook, ambassador of the Republic of South Korea in Cairo, expressed his happiness with the development of relations between the two countries, stressing that his country looks forward to more cooperation in a way that serves areas of common interest, explaining that there are about 170 Korean companies operating in Egypt, 33 of which are major companies that cover A wide range of sectors including Samsung and LG Electronics.

The Korean ambassador affirmed that his country is aware of the importance of Egypt's pioneering role in leading the region, noting that the Egyptian government is moving in the right path through its great interest in developing education in line with Egypt's strategy to achieve sustainable development 2030.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed work mechanisms to activate cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education development, exchange and transfer of expertise to develop technical education curricula, develop students ’skills, qualify them for technological universities and the labor market, train teachers, and conduct online competitions between Egyptian and Korean students. To motivate them to use technology, and to encourage them to learn about the civilization, history, language and culture of the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister of Education for Technological Development Affairs, Professor Sherine Hamdy, Supervisor of the Minister’s Office Sector, Dr. Amr Basilah, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Development and Director of the Applied Technology Schools Administration Unit, and from the Korean side, Mrs. Park Yoon Rai, Head of the Economic Department.
