The Minister of Education visits the “New Minya Official Language School” and the (WE) School)

Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, as part of his visit to Minya Governorate, inspected a number of schools, to monitor the discipline of the 2023/2024 academic year and the regularity of the educational process.

The Minister was accompanied on his tour by Dr. Muhammad Mahmoud Abu Zeid, Deputy Governor, Dr. Eid Abdel Wahed Ali Darwish, Head of the Executive Body of the General Authority for the Eradication of Illiteracy and Adult Education, Professor Khaled Abdel Hakam, Head of the Central Administration for District Affairs, Professor Mahmoud Hajjaj, Director of the General Administration for Support and Communication, and Professor Hamdi Mustafa. Director of the Governorate's Education Directorate, and a number of members of the House of Representatives.

At the beginning of his tour, the minister inspected the “New Minya Official Language School” affiliated with the Minya Educational Administration.

The Minister watched the physical education class, and the Minister directed the physical education teacher to explain the importance of sports training, the extent of benefiting from sports activity, and the importance of students realizing the positive impact of every training on the body.

The Minister also inspected a number of kindergarten halls and the computer lab during the computer class for the sixth grade of primary school.

The Minister also inspected the science laboratory during the science class for the third year of middle school, and held a dialogue with the students about their benefit from the lesson, and directed that practical experiments be conducted to help the students understand and benefit more.

By monitoring a number of classes during classes, the Minister was assured of the regularity of the educational process within the school, and was keen to monitor the academic level of the students and the extent to which they benefited from the educational curricula.

The Minister praised the students’ outstanding attendance, good interaction with subject teachers, and the good level of students.

As part of his keenness to ensure the progress of the educational process in schools of applied technology, the minister went to inspect the (WE) School of Applied Technology in the city of New Minya, which has a total number of students of 447 male and female students.

The Minister inspected a number of the school's classes and departments, followed up on the regularity of classes, and held a dialogue with a number of school students who praised the school and the vital and important role it aims to play in developing all their skills and special professional aspects, which qualifies them to join work after graduation.

The Minister was keen to inspect the exhibition of student projects, where the students explained their projects, which included a project to create an employment site, a trash can project that works with motion detection technology, quick response and ease of opening automatically, a glove project for the disabled, an electronic irrigation project “Auto Ri”, a shoe project to help the blind, and a reinforced project. Mobile phone signal, and a glasses project to help the blind.

The Minister stressed the efforts of the Egyptian state to support technical education, to prepare and qualify trained human cadres for the labor market as it is the engine of development and its effective role in contributing to all economic development plans and programmes.

Dr. Reda Hegazy added that the Ministry is seeking to increase the number of applied technology schools in various governorates, which contributes to improving the quality of the outputs and levels of technical and vocational skills for technical education students, meeting the needs of the labor market for new professions and specializations, and contributing to increasing the employment rates for graduates of these schools
