Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with Dr. Chakib Benmoussa, Minister of National Education, Primary Education and Sports in the Kingdom of Morocco, to discuss strengthening ways of cooperation between the two countries in the field of education, on the sidelines of the thirteenth conference of Arab ministers of education held in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, under the title “The Future Education in the Arab world in light of the digital transformation.

During the meeting, Dr. Reda Hegazy reviewed the importance that the Egyptian state attaches to the role of the teacher and the need for his professional development in line with the comprehensive development strategy for the educational system, noting that the ministry's vision for the future is based on selecting teachers according to specific mechanisms with professional skills, renewable knowledge, and sound professional values and behaviors. They have the ability to continuously develop their skills so that they can keep pace with modern education methods associated with digital transformation and technological breakthroughs, enabling them to build the child's personality, develop his abilities in all aspects of knowledge and skills, and prepare him for the future.

Dr. Reda Hegazy explained that the mechanism for selecting teachers in Egypt takes place through passing through a set of electronic tests that do not involve any human intervention and are subject to governance and transparency, to select the best elements.

Dr. Reda Hegazy indicated that the ministry has a professional academy for teachers, and its main function is organizing teacher training, supervising the approval of training packages, certifying trainers, approving training halls, in addition to following up on the impact of training.

For his part, Dr. Chakib Benmoussa praised the role of the Egyptian state and its continuous efforts in developing the educational process and reforming education, expressing his aspiration to enhance cooperation, partnership and exchange of experiences in the educational field between the Kingdom of Morocco and Egypt in the field of education and teacher training.

The meeting witnessed a discussion of many issues related to education and training in the two countries, given that training and continuous development of teachers and trainers is one of the most influential elements in the development of any educational system. Approving training packages, trainers and training venues, measuring the impact of training, in addition to training new teachers and in-service teachers, and evaluating teachers.
