Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education, received Mr. Mark Howard, Director of the British Council and Cultural Attaché in Cairo, to enhance cooperation to support the development of the educational process in Egypt.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Shaimaa El-Banna, Director of the Education Department, Mr. Yasser Ali, Director of Education Development and Partnerships, Ms. Iman Sabry, Assistant Minister for Private and International Education Affairs, and Ms. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for International Cooperation and Agreements and Supervisor of the Central Administration for Minister's Office Affairs.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif welcomed the attendees, appreciating the areas of joint cooperation between the British Council and the Ministry to support and advance the educational process in Egypt.

During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the ministerial decision to organize the work of study rules, examinations and evaluation in all schools that teach and grant international, foreign or special (international) certificates within the Arab Republic of Egypt, noting that this decision aims to preserve the Egyptian national and cultural identity and consolidate belonging among students, by supporting the teaching of the Arabic language and history, explaining that the Arabic language and history connect the student to his roots and identity, so that he is more loyal to his society and more belonging to it, noting that various countries of the world are keen to teach their basic language and history in their various educational models.

For his part, the Director of the British Council and the Cultural Attaché in Cairo stressed the strong relations with the Ministry of Education, stressing the Council's keenness to support the Ministry of Education in implementing its future plan to advance the education system in Egypt.

The Director of the British Council and the Cultural Attaché in Cairo expressed the Council's readiness to provide all means of support to clarify the decisions to international schools and ensure the successful implementation of the Ministry's initiatives.

The meeting also discussed following up on joint cooperation mechanisms, enhancing areas of cooperation related to professional development for teachers and school principals, and seeking to promote inclusive education in all Egyptian schools, as well as exchanging experiences on students' use of educational platforms, programming and artificial intelligence and integrating them into education. The meeting also discussed exchanging experiences in quality assurance systems and education standards necessary to enhance comprehensive educational quality in schools.
