In the presence of His Excellency President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, President of the Republic of Singapore, at the "Egypt-Singapore Business Forum," Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Engineer Hassan El Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, and Mr. Masagos Zulkifli, Minister of Social and Family Development of Singapore, witnessed today at the headquarters of the General Authority for Investment the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding with the National Academy of Sciences and Skills (NASS) of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Technical Education Services (ITEES) of the Republic of Singapore, with the aim of developing technical and vocational education.

The memorandum was signed by Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Development and Head of the Operations and Management Unit of Applied Technology Schools, representing the Ministry of Education and Technical Education; Mr. David Nabil, CEO of the National Academy of Sciences and Skills (NASS) of Egypt; and Mr. Suresh Natarajan, CEO of the Technical Education Services (ITEES) of the Republic of Singapore.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif emphasized that this partnership complements the state's efforts to build a qualified and competitive generation. He pointed out that cooperation with prestigious international partners such as ITEES and the National Academy of Sciences and Skills enhances Egypt's regional and international standing in the field of technical and vocational education.

The Minister added that the memorandum aims to enhance cooperation in the field of technical and vocational education and training, in line with the priorities of developing the education sector in Egypt, and to expand the scope of international partnerships aimed at providing graduates of applied technology schools with greater competitiveness in local and global labor markets.

The most prominent objectives of the memorandum of understanding are quality assurance, through the adoption of the Global Excellence Model for Vocational Education and Training (GEMSET) within applied technology schools, as well as the application of international standards through the implementation of International Skills Qualifications (ISQ) certifications, thus enhancing the quality of Egyptian technical education and its outcomes.

The memorandum also aims to enhance the competitiveness of graduates by providing greater opportunities for employment in regional and international labor markets.

The scope of cooperation under the tripartite memorandum includes developing the infrastructure for technical and vocational education, building the capacity of leaders and educational cadres, academic development and quality assurance, as well as licensing and certification, including other advisory areas relevant to the program.
