Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met today with Eng. Abdel Sadiq Al-Shorbagy, head of the National Press Authority, and a group of senior writers, editors-in-chief of newspapers and websites, media professionals and journalists, in a symposium organized by the authority; To discuss the latest developments in the educational process and to clarify the most important features of the next stage, which calls for the concerted efforts of all parties concerned with the education sector, and future directions aimed at developing the work of the Ministry.
Dr. Reda Hegazy expressed his happiness with this meeting, praising the pivotal and important role of media professionals in strengthening the building of state institutions, and raising the state of societal awareness of the projects undertaken by the Ministry of Education and Technical Education to develop the educational system, by addressing issues objectively in the media and providing and publishing facts. Clarifying visions and refuting rumors, stressing that the media is a major partner supporting the development of education in Egypt.
Dr. Reda Hijazi stressed the importance of societal dialogue between the ministry and public opinion in general, and between stakeholders associated with the ministry in particular, in order to bring the views of educational policy makers and implementers closer.
Minister Ali also stressed that the development of education is continuing based on the state’s plan, with the possibility of modification in the implementation mechanisms so that the citizen feels the change on the ground, noting that the development has become inevitable in light of the fourth and fifth industrial revolution and digital transformation, adding that what has been achieved will be built on. During the previous period and investing it, maximizing successful experiences and benefiting from them and working to create convictions among those concerned with the educational process that they are partners in development.
For his part, Eng. Abdel-Sadiq Al-Shorbagy, head of the National Press Authority, welcomed Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and congratulated him for the confidence of the political leadership and assigning him one of the most important ministerial portfolios, indicating his pride in this meeting, as this is the first visit of its kind by a Minister of Education. The head of the National Press Authority pointed out that the national press has a pivotal role in spreading awareness, culture and awareness of the challenges facing the country, given its awareness of the magnitude of internal and external risks and its belief in the importance of defending the nation's capabilities.

During the meeting, the minister reviewed a number of files that the ministry puts on its work agenda; To serve the objectives of the educational process at all levels and grades, and to advance them in order to achieve the state's objectives in the field of education.
With regard to the teacher, the minister indicated that there is no development without upgrading the teacher’s performance and attention to his dignity and prestige, explaining that the ministry is interested in training teachers on a variety of targeted programs, through the Professional Academy for Teachers, stressing the importance of not practicing the teaching profession until after obtaining a license to practice the profession.
The minister also stressed that the return of students to school is a strategic goal because the school has an important social role in building the student’s personality in accordance with Egypt’s 2030 vision, noting that this is achieved through attention to technology and educational channels (Our School 1, Our School 2, and Our School 3) and its integration into the academic program the return of school activities of all kinds; In order for the student to acquire skills and knowledge.
With regard to the curricula, the minister stressed that the new curricula help the student to think critically, manage and obtain knowledge in light of the digital transformation and the multiplicity of educational resources such as digital platforms and tablets and their integration into the study programme, adding that after amendments were made to the curricula of the fourth grade of primary for the new school year 2022/ 2023, so that it fits with the time plan and does not prejudice the achievement of learning outcomes.
With regard to Nile schools, Dr. Reda Hegazy confirmed that there is an ambitious plan to increase the number of these schools during the next phase, which teach the Nile International Certificate curricula designed through cooperation with the Cambridge Examinations Authority, in implementation of the mandate of the President of the Republic.
The minister touched on the existing expansions in the Egyptian-Japanese schools project, as the state aims to reach this type of education to the largest number of beneficiaries at the level of the Republic, and to implement "tokatsu" activities in all schools that apply the new Egyptian curriculum.
The minister talked about the technical education development plan, which is moving at a steady pace, in the belief in the need to continue reforming technical education in Egypt, for its great role in training students on updated curricula that suit the labor market, noting that 40 applied technology schools have been established, and these schools are being expanded. It is highly regarded for its excellent education.
The minister stressed the political leadership’s interest in discovering and nurturing talented people in all academic subjects and school activities, refining their skills in all disciplines, and providing all aspects of support and care for them, as it was directed to form a committee to discover talented students among school students, provided that its membership includes the directors general of development of school subjects and activities.
